Hey Magpies! I hope everyone is having a great summer here in the northern hemisphere and I know I have some readers from down under so I hope the winter isn’t treating you guys too bad. I was struggling to get creative this month so I went back to my traditional style of clean & simple LO’s and quickly bashed out 4 LO’s. I should stick with what I know and not try and get too creative haha!
This month I chose products from the Pinkfresh Studio, The Mix No. 1 collection. I love that there’s a collection of just embellishments because I always want more embellishments! I also love the bright colours in this collection, bright colours always excite me. So my first LO I used a piece of paper from the Bella Blvd, Make Your Mark 6×8″ Paper Pad and then I layered an offcut of Crate Paper, Cool Kid Buddy paper on top. I love that paper so much, it’s the perfect striped paper! Then I used some of The Mix No.1 Acetate Tags around the page. I used some of the Enamel Shapes and also one of the Layered Chipboard Stickers too. My ‘awesome’ title is from Amy Tangerine and I wish someone would just make a whole pack of Thickers with just that word, I would use it over and over again! I did a line of Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops because well, I love my Nuvo Crystal Drops!!! The last touch is a Everyday Labels Puffy Sticker from Elle’s Studio and some Washi Tape at the top and bottom of the page.
All my LO’s this month are 9×12″, I love this size! This LO I started with a white background but then realized I needed some more oomph to it, so I added a border of Make Your Mark, Paint Me Paper and a line of Gloss Red Berry Nuvo Crystal Drops inside that. Everyone always tells me that my dots are always so perfect but can you see the place where I stuck my finger into the dots on this border? They’re definitely not perfect that’s for sure but as an overall look, they look fine! So don’t be afraid of the Nuvo’s, they’re fantastic! I used some offcuts of paper under my photo and my title is from The Mix No.1 Puffy Stickers, these stickers are super cool. Then I dotted around some of the Puffy Stickers from the Pinkfresh Studio Dream On collection.
This LO couldn’t be more simple. I just used some layers of paper that were lying on my desk under my photo. It’s always so easy to just put some strips on a LO and put a photo on top. Super simple and effective. See the little striped strip that’s on the bottom left of my photo and the other that’s underneath the ‘awesome’ rubber tag, they’re part of The Mix No.1 packaging! I’ve used some of the Layered Chipboard Stickers and put on a double strip of Nuvo Crystal Drops using Red Berry and White. The ‘A is for Awesome’ rubber tag comes from the Cocoa Vanilla, You Rock collection. Around the edge of my LO I used some black & white striped Washi Tape from the Bella Blvd, Make Your Mark collection, this appears to be out of stock now so I hope you did manage to nab some of that for your collection, it’s so useful! When I put a border on a LO it makes it so hard to photograph! You have to get it so squared up in your lens and as you can see below, I didn’t manage it this time lol! My LO is all right angles and square in real life….. my photography skills are lacking!
My last LO is again, super simple! Just a photo and then cut a piece of paper the same size to make a grid. It couldn’t be easier. I used a piece of paper from the Make Your Mark 6×8″ Paper Pad. I used one of the Puffy Stickers from The Mix No.1 and then added some Thickers to say ‘not always perfect’ because my photo is out of focus. I dotted around some of the Enamel Shapes, a couple of the Phrase Stickers and a Layered Chipboard Sticker too.
So going back to my roots helped me to create this month. I think I should stick with my usual style but sometimes I get bored and want to make LO’s like the other DT members cause they all do such cool work! have a great July Magpies and I’ll be back on August 1st with something new for you xXx
