A New Year & a New Day with Dear Lizzy!

Happy new year Magpies, I am kicking off 2019 with New Day by Dear Lizzy. You can look forward to new members to the design team this year and also a lot more content, we will all be posting twice a month from now on so there will be eye candy for you on the blog almost every day!
So I picked the new collection from Dear Lizzy, New Day this month. I have got to say, I just love the creatures with the glasses on, they’re so cute and they make me happy. I used to think I couldn’t use a giraffe on a LO unless I was scrapping a picture of a giraffe. But now I’ve realised,  it’s my LO and I can use whatever I want on there 😉
So when I got the collection I opened the packet of Die-Cut Ephemera first. What happened was, I was going through the bits and bobs and started putting the frames aside on a piece of white cardstock. I had put them out, basically in the formation they’re in on my LO and I liked it. So I carried on with it! I loved the giraffe in the Ephemera so I had to use him, popped up on some foam pads. Then I added the llama from the 6×12″ Accent & Phrase Stickers as well. I love the New Day Layered Clips and used 2 of them on this LO. I gotta say, I’m not usually a fan of clips and things and I tend to take the clips off a lot of the time but these ones are fab and very usable. When I saw the New Day collection online I didn’t think much of the triangle Enamel Shapes. I didn’t like the triangle shape but the colours are really lush, so bright and colourful. So I purchased a pack and then I realised they’re like little arrows, I love arrows!
So this LO is super simple, it’s just some of the embellishments spread across the page with some washi tape top and bottom and a few Nuvo Dots! A really easy way to put a LO together and the Ephemera in the pack is very usable.

I enjoyed doing the LO above that I dug through the Ephemera again and this time I put out the numbers, a couple more pieces and I had another LO! Super easy, the hardest part was getting the backs off my foam pads under the peace fingers and title! I laid out the bits and bods from the Ephemera pack and then started adding a couple more bits. I used another of the Layered Clips and some bits from the Chipboard Stickers and a ripped piece of the Mindful Paper across the bottom and my LO was done, so fast and easy!

For my last LO I really wanted to use one of the awesome Beaded Tassels in the collection. They are out of stock at the moment but more will be coming so sign up for an email alert if you need them in your life, and believe me, they’re awesome, you need them!
When I got my box of stash I started by cutting apart all the papers that need cutting apart. So I cut up the Wild & Free paper and then used the ‘peace & Love’ piece as part of my title. I decided I could use the peace fingers from the 6×12″ Accent & Phrase Sticker sheet on this LO so I added it on foam pads. Then I needed to add purrs & bunts underneath cause just had to! So I used the Mini Foam Alphabet Thickers from Paige Evans Whimsical. I added the peace fingers and some little arrows from the Puffy Stickers as well.

I have more Dear Lizzy New Day layouts to share and I will be back again on the 16th with those. You should definitely check out the collection, the animals with glasses on are so cute and I think they make a LO better! Who doesn’t need a giraffe with glasses on eh!  So welcome to 2019 Magpies, here’s to a great crafting year to all of us and we’ll be back tomorrow with more to feast your eyes on!
