A Speedy Sketch!
It feels like an eon ago that I was taking these photos in preparation for the announcement of my third pregnancy. Yet at the same time, this pregnancy has flown by! Since the birth of baby number 3 is now imminent, it seemed right that I should get these pictures scrapped now, whilst awaiting the impending arrival. I used a classic method to get these happy, smiley faces that you see in the photos – mummy pulling funny faces (and, if i’m being honest, making daft sounds too!). I’m thankful that no-one else was there to witness my silliness, but hey, it worked so I’m happy!
My scrapbooking time is limited now, since I can barely reach the desk if I’m sat, and I have discovered that the comfort of my chair is less than ideal. So, I pulled this page together quickly using a sketch I had drawn out a few weeks ago, and a selection of products that were out on my desk already. The fun polka design sheet I’ve used for the background is from Shimelle’s True Stories collection, and I teamed it with strips of paper from a variety of recent lines by Amy Tan, Pebbles & Crate. I layered up die cuts to create a space for my journalling, and added 3 simple embellishment clusters with repeated elements of tags, hearts, arrows and cameras.
Those wood veneers – the heart dipped in gold glitter and the half coloured heart & arrow, are just gorgeous! They are from the Crate Paper Craft Market collection. I love them! The little camera button is from Shimelle’s True Stories, and the puffy gold hearts & gold arrow paperclip from Amy Tan’s Rise & Shine.
The sketch that I used for this page is below – I’d love to see what you make with it so please do share your creations with us at Hey Little Magpie either by leaving a link on this post, or through Facebook or Instagram. I will hope to be back on the blog in a couple of months time, once the shock of another newborn has worn off a little! When I return I will be featuring sketches on a monthly basis, with layouts alongside them, to help you speed up your scrapbooking or to find a little inspiration. Let me know if there’s any particular page types you’d like to see featured and I will see what I can do!
