A Splash of Summer with Jillibean Soup and Dear Lizzy

Hi Everyone, I hope you have enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend, if you are here in the UK, and you have got some time to do some crafting.  This month I have been inspire by some of the warmer weather we have been having and the bright papers in the shop to scrap a few more of my summer holiday photos from last year.
I picked out a mix of the new Jillibean Soup Hello Healthy papers and some Dear Lizzy  Happy Place papers as well as some embellishments from the Jillibean Soup line too. The colours of the two collections go so well together, I have shown the paper in more detail on a video up on my YouTube Channel today, you can find it HERE.

I have 4 pages to share  with you this month.  Although the papers are not particularly travel themed they work fine in my USA travel album
My first page is showcasing a collage of photos that I look in an American candy store.  The background paper from Jillibean Soup, reminded me of the rows of sweets and the colours work great with all the bright colours in the photo.

I kept the layering pretty simple as their was a lot going on, but I used some of the Jillibean Wood Veener and also the Project Life Kiwi Flair.  The flair are out of stock at the moment, but Hey Little Magpie have just released some of their own flair in the shop, and they are super cute.

I used some die-cuts and Thickers from my stash to finish off this page, I love all the bright colours on the page, and it was a great first page to get me to cut in to some of the papers.

My second page this month, picks out the greens and blue’s of the kit I pulled together.  I really like the floral paper from Healthy Hello, as it is in both a small and a larger design.  The wood veneers also picks out the same floral designs that work great as an additional embellishment.  I used mists from my stash to paint these to match the colours in the papers.

I kept the layering simple on this one again as I wanted the photos, of the amazing tall Redwoods to be the main attraction.  I picked out the background paper from Dear Lizzy as the colour complimented the photos.

I also use a journalling card from one of the Value Kits available in the shop, these made a perfect spot to add my clusters of embellishments around.  This is a page layout that I go back to time and time again as it works every time at drawing your eyes to the photos.

My third page took this beautiful text paper from Jillibean Soup  and mixed it with the large floral design.  I don’t normally use a large design paper to mount my pages on, but I feel it worked on this pages as I brought these motifs forward in to the main clusters.

I love the pre-printed ink splots on the papers and added a few more with mist from my stash.  I kept my layers simple around the photo too, letting the larger floral have center stage.

I layered the wood veneer pieces, which I coloured again with my mists on top of the acetate pieces.  I did struggle to use these as I predicted, but I do love the texture they add to the finial design.

My finial page this month, has used more of the floral motifs.  I know this is a page about a male, but I have no problem using floral’s on the page and using pinks, balanced with the blue’s and green’s.

I again took the wood veneer shapes and added mist to them to help them blend with the colours of the page, this time I did two tone hearts.

I look some old Jillibean Soup alpha from my stash to add a title to the page, I will be using the SFO hashtag on a lot of my pages from this part of my trip.  I am going to use the cities hashtag throughout the different pages and it is going to add a small continuous detail to each section of the album.
I hope you have enjoyed these four summery pages that I have shared with you this month, it was nice to revisit the sunshine in the photos and to play with the bright cheerful colours.
Here is to warmer weather and  making more memories.  See you all in June.
