Autumnal Wanderlust

Hi everyone and welcome to my November blog post.  This is my favourite time of year I love all the colours of the seasons and the darker nights and how cozy this season makes me feel, and I am loving all the autumn/fall themed collections in the store.  I decided this month to focus on one of the older collections in store which contains all the beautiful autumnal tones, Heidi Swapp Wanderlust.  The purple and navy is divine and it work great with so many collections, I have paired it with Crate Paper Craft Market and the Journey collections, and Pink Paislee Cedar Lane.
Ok so on to my first page, none of these have an autumnal theme with regards to the photos but the bold/saturated colours are great for using with all sorts of photos.  The first is a series of photos taken on my recent trip to the USA and some of the many beautiful sights that I saw. I love how the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust collection has both softer, watercolour effect papers as well as the stronger one.

I loved the tones of navy in this collection with the pops of gold foils which came in the brilliant Embellishment Kit, I love all the different textures that are included.  The large kraft tags in this collection are great for journalling on as well as creating base layers for clusters.

I liked to stack 4×6 prints on top of each other, especially in a series of photos like this.  It also means that their are natural places for the embellishment clusters to fall.

That first page is very different from my other 3 as I kept away from the bold print, in which the Wanderlust collection has a few of. One of them being this lovely floral, the collection has a couple of different floral designs and this one was my favourite, although it was busy it was also in natural tones. I added some texture to the background using a range of stencils and inks.

The main feature of this page is the wonderful wood veneer, I knew this would work perfectly with one of my travel pages.  I wanted to carry on with the gold foil that was in this collection, so I embossed it using gold glitter embossing powder.

Again I used the kraft tags in order to build my clusters up, this pack has 4 foiled/printed tags and 4 plain and they are so versatile.  I also pulled one of the acetate piece that came in the Embellishment pack, another way of added more texture to the page.

My 3rd page is one of my favourite, that background paper is just beautiful and so eye catching.  I used a single 4×4 selfie which I wanted to use as an partner page which include a lot of journalling on a 6×12 insert.  I will admit the journalling is not the most cheerful, so I gave myself permission to use lots of fun random die cuts.

Again I have featured one of the large kraft tags in order to grounds my layers and to bring in some of the love gold detailing,

I used both vellum and chipboard embellishments to bring my layers and clusters together, all the different collection worked so well.

My finial page I want to share with you is one that was a bit of a labour of love. As most people know I am a huge fan of woodgrain , especially dark woodgrain and this Chickaniddy 365 paper is divine.  I knew that it would contrast well with the saturated tones of the Wanderlust collection, so I decided to break out my neglected Silhouette Cameo.

The faceted Wanderlust paper gave me the idea to use a geometric shape, and whilst browsing the library I came across this heart.  I ended up taking the positive away and sticking the negative spaces down, it was a long process, but the plus side is that I have the positive shape to use on another page.  I will share this process in a video on my YouTube channel in the coming week, their has been a delay in getting my videos up as I am suffering with a cold so does not sound too great on my voice over, but they will be up soon so please check back for information.

I kept my embellishments pretty simple on this one as I did not want to cover up too much of that labour intensive background design.  The Craft Market embellishment were perfect for this family photo.  Again one of them trusty kraft tags are featured in my layers.
I hope that you have enjoyed seeing me use this slightly older collection that is in the store, and mixing it with some newer collections.  I will definitely be getting some more of them tags as they are so useful and work so well with a variety of supplies.
Thanks for stopping by and I will see you in December.
