Beautiful Australia – Pink Paislee – 5th and Monaco – Wendy Meffan
Hey Magpies! time is rushing by in lockdown and I’m here with my first July blogpost using this gorgeous vibrant collection 5th and Monaco from Pink Paislee. It is perfect for bright colourful Summer photos.
Hamilton Island is very tropical place in Australia, and this photo of me in the Port had such beautiful bright colours in it, it went well with the paper collection. I chose to paint the background to coordinate with the paper colours as well as the photo. I used watercolours and painted stripes across in the different colours just letting them blend in slightly. I decided to place the photo centrally and have two clusters of flowers, one each side.
I have a new floral die and was keen to use it so I cut each flower twice and on the one of them I cut bits out of the petals and then placed them onto the solid flower cut out. I colour matched my flowers position to the stripes of colour on the page.
I then used a fern leaf die and made coordinating leaves from the 6×8 paper pad, and added them around the flowers. It was an easy layout to construct once I’d finished cutting into the petals. Apart from adding a few puffy hearts I didn’t add any further embellishments as I wanted to show the background and the flowers.
I added the title using mini thickers.
I hope you are finding time to scrap in lockdown and are becoming ever more creative and maybe this LO will tempt you to dabble into using dies and watercolours!
Till next time…happy scrapping!
