Ali Edwards Design| Jo Boland

Hello, Jo here for part one of my August layouts. This month I’m using products in the Ali Edwards Design range, lots of stickers, some stamps and some paints. I’m mixing them with papers and products from other scrapbook collections, of which I’ll link below.

I have long been a fan of Ali Edwards, it was her and Cathy Zielske who were my main inspiration when I first started scrapbooking back in 2006, they both continue to inspire me. When I saw that Hey Little Magpie were stocking some of Ali’s range I jumped at the chance to use them.

Week in the Life – Favourites 2019

The idea for this double page layout was to choose two photos from each day during my Week in the Life 2019 project. You can see my 2019 WITL project here. I used a collage template to have them all on the one page which I printed out on A4 photo paper and matted on to white 8.5 x 11″ cardstock. I stuck a pale blue striped washi tape (from my stash) all around the outer edge of the double page spread. This is a great way to use up washi tape and brings the two pages together, especially when you don’t have a 8.5 x 11″ photo.

I painted an area on the empty left page in AE Colombia acrylic paint, which went well with the washi tape. I left this to dry overnight as I planned on placing my title here.

Next day I added my title in little white ‘Week in the Life’ letter stickers, these have stuck really well to the paint, yay! Below the title I fussy cut a camera from the Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope paper ‘Say Cheese’ and popped it up on foam pads. On top I placed a word sticker from the Story Planner Sticker Bundle and underneath I added the year using the St Helen’s Alphabet Stickers.

Around the layout I added more word stickers, I can’t get enough of these! I used blue and white ones from the Week in the Life Phrase Sticker Bundle. I also added a label sticker, a transparent circle sticker and a word tab.

Elementary

Ali Edwards often uses large photos on her layouts, so I thought I’d have a go too. My photo measures just over 8″ square and I filled the void on the left with a piece of Crate Paper All Heart paper ‘Stardust’ from my stash. I added two strips of washi tape from an older Crate Paper collection top and bottom.

The rest of the stickers (transparent circles, words and tab) are from the Ali Edwards sticker packs linked about. The letter stickers are the St Helens Alphabet sticker pack, as were the number stickers in the first layout.

I’ve also used two white acrylic stars from Ali’s range and have adhered them with a strong liquid glue, Glossy Accents works a treat with adhering acrylic shapes.

You can find all the Ali Edwards Design products here.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I’ll be back on the 24th August with a couple more layouts.
