Bella Blvd Bits n Pieces

For my blog post this month I’ve been creating with a variety of bits and pieces. Mostly various elements from Bella Blvd, combined with some gorgeous watercolour resist tags from Amy Tangerine. There are 8 different designs in the pack featuring the elements from the On a Whim collection. That includes a flamingo, a pineapple, a donut, florals/leaves, words and a camera.

I just had to use the “you look good” tag on this page with a photo of my daughter rocky a crazy baby punk do when she was little. I made my background by using the a and b sides of two 12×12 sheets, and cutting them on the diagonal then trimming the edges. I used papers from the Bella Blvd Addison collection for these pages. The colours are so vibrant and fun!

I added stickers from the Bella Blvd Make your Mark collection. I was really pleased at how well the deep blue matches the shade in the papers, even though they’re from different collections. This photo does make me laugh. The combination of the comedy celebration t-shirt, the funky hair and the adorable leg rolls. The “impossible to forget” sticker was just perfect!

Bella Blvd also make gorgeous puffy stickers – I’ve used the stars in blue for these pages, but they come in hearts and alphabets as well, in a whole variety of colours. I’ll take one of each please!

Here I’ve added an acrylic word from Bella Blvd. I just love these! They’re a really beautiful feature on your pages. The script is lovely and swirly (yes, that’s the technical term!) yet still easily readable, and combined with the gold stickers from Make your Mark they make a title that’s full of impact.
I really wanted to use the pineapple tag next, and after painting it in yellows and greens I decided to showcase it on a simple card instead of a layout. I added Nuvo drops in Duck egg around the edge of the tag, and mounted it on some scraps of papers from Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness. A couple of stickers from the Make your Mark sticker sheet complete the card. I love the addition of gold to these resist tags. It adds another layer of interest to an already lovely feature.

For my second full layout I used the same set of supplies, and again I went for a variation on triangles for my page background. This time I cut triangles in decreasing size and layered them up on top of each other. I gutted these, so in total for the three projects here I have only used 2 sheets of 12×12 patterned paper (plus the small Simple Stories scraps on the card) along with my 2 sheets of white card stock.

I used some of the edges that I had trimmed off to frame the other side of my photo, and began adding my embellishments. I used a combination of stickers for my title, and another acrylic word on top of  a watercolour tag for a feature underneath my photo. Puffy stickers, Nuvo crystal drops and make your mark stickers complete the page, alongside some glitter hearts from Pebbles Inc.

This photo was taken on a birthday trip out for the then smallest member of the family. It was rare to get a nice family portrait then, and it’s even harder now we are five! Making a mental note to myself right now that we’ve not had one for a while. Perhaps I will challenge myself photographically this month to get a family portrait. Watch this space!
