Along The Way – Jen Hadfield – Giselle Homer

Hello again Magpies,
Today I’m sharing two layouts using Along The Way, by Jen Hadfield, which is a really versatile collection of green, yellow and blue papers, from Pebbles.
SWEET CHEEKS
The first uses mainly the green papers and embellishments. I started by cutting the strips and scallops that form the upper border. The black and white scallops are cut from the B side of the ‘Home’ paper which has little circles of leaves, so they worked really well.  I then lightly applied some Distress Oxide ink, called Evergreen Bough, to the white cardstock and added some sprinkles of ink as well.  I placed my photo, which was backed with white and pale pink plain cardstock, to the lower right quarter of the page.

I used some die cuts from the ephemera pack and some that I fussy cut, to add a cluster at the lower right corner of the photo.

I added a title using American Crafts Thickers alongside the lower left corner of the photo. And I die cut the little hare which I lightly coloured using the same pale green ink and added some white dots to his tummy!

The top of the layout looked a bit empty so I added some die cut sprigs and a chipboard phrase for interest.

I finished off  by adding some enamel dots and drawing a thin green line around three sides of the layout.

HELLO!
My second layout uses the same green flowery paper called ‘Parkway’ to die cut the title, which is backed onto white cardstock. I chose yellow for the background and added a sheet of ‘Birdseed’ paper to form a border. I lightly stamped some circles and flowers onto the cardstock to add a little interest.

Here’s closer look at the title die cut letters with a little bird from the ephemera pack!

I cut 2 hearts which I glued together and added a butterfly, plus a strip of the honeycomb pattern from the ephemera packaging to place above my photo. I used a die cut house, which I placed over a chipboard frame, to add to the left of the photo.

I cut a tag shape for my journalling and glued some embellishments above and below it.

I finished off the page by adding a few elements to the lower right corner.

That’s it for now, see you later in the month. Till then, happy scrapping!
