DCWV Premium paperback stacks

This month I have been working with one of the paper stacks from DCWV available in the shop now. I knew I wanted to try one of these out – paper is, after all, my favourite product! There are currently over 40 choices in the DCWV paper stacks category, so how to choose which one? Well, my first page explains that pretty well.

Yup. Flamingos. So it had to be this one didn’t it? I love them. This particular stack is called “Watercolour” and is a beautifully tropical mixture of pineapples and flamingos in shades of pink, green, orange and blue, with some splendid dashes of black and gold in the mix too.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product in terms of quality, but I was pleasantly surprised. The paper is beautifully heavyweight, double sided, and to my view equal to any single sheet paper I would buy from the major manufacturers. The addition of foiling is a premium touch, and is exquisitely executed. You get two sheets of each design, allowing for that annoying scenario of loving both sides of a paper and only having one sheet!

Buying paper on its own without coordinating embellishments means you have to pull other items from your stash to throw into the mix. I used several different bits and pieces on my pages including American Crafts stickerbooks (Shimelle and Vicki Boutin), stickers from Box of Crayons and Stay Colorful, various Thickers, mini bows from Amy Tan, and Nuvo drops.

I have really enjoyed working with these papers – the colour combination is gorgeous, and the designs are right up my street. There’s so many to choose from that there’s bound to be one that’s right up your street too. The options are hugely varied. 3 layouts later I feel like I’ve barely made a dent in the stack, which is great news, and I’m looking forward to mixing these designs in with my stash and stretching them over many pages yet to come.

The blue in the collection struck me as being the same shade as Jasmine’s dress, so a page documenting my own love of meeting characters from my childhood was on the cards. I used a large print, and built up my triangle of embellishments around the image. “Stay magical” was the perfect sentiment from Dear Lizzy stay Colorful.

Now, would it be reasonable to just stick a sheet of that flamingo paper right up on my wall……
