Butterfly crazy…

So this month I may just have gone a little butterfly crazy!
I’ve always adored butterflies in home decor, stationery and of course scrapbooking supplies, but hand on heart, I can honestly say that MME have trumped any collection featuring butterflies with their ‘My Story‘ collection and I am crazy about it!
Apart from featuring the most luscious combination of pastel and fuchsia pinks, along with ochres and charcoal tones, the designs are simply stunning.
And except from using three foam alphas for the titles, including the Dear Lizzy ‘Snapshot‘ alpha and some white cardstock, all layouts used a combination of the 6 x 6″ paper pad, 3 x 4″ journalling cards, the mixed cardstock die-cuts and the ‘Heirloom Roses‘ and ‘This Moment‘ foiled papers, so you could say this month I’ve been a very thrifty scrapper too!

‘XOXO’ features a series of fussy cut butterflies from the ‘This Moment‘ paper, along with a couple of papers from the 6 x 6″ paper pad. I nearly always choose a 6 x 6″ paper pad when picking a collection – it seems much less criminal to cut into a 6 x 6″ sheet rather than a 12 x 12″ piece of paper somehow… or perhaps it’s just less scary!

The background got a smattering of black watercolour paint, along with a section of journalling. Typically this was the last thing I did, but having wished I hadn’t, there was only one thing for it – I recreated the page minus the journalling!
‘Hello’ uses a selection of the 3 x 4″ journalling cards, along with snippets of the 6 x 6″ papers, to either back mount the cards or use as part of the feature border.

And of course, it wouldn’t be butterfly crazy, without some of them!

Like ‘XOXO’ I used rich pink watercolour paint to add splatters to the background.

‘Always’ uses a simple background, cut on the Silhouette. Each circle is back mounted with a selection of the 6 x 6″ papers. Unlike some 6 x 6″ paper pads, the MME papers are all double sided.

I fussy cut into my second favourite paper in this collection ‘Heirloom Roses‘ and overlaid the circles with a selection of blooms, and of course the odd butterfly or two, although these weren’t cut from the ‘This Moment‘ paper – they were in fact from the cardstock die-cuts.

‘Wish’ features a cascade of butterflies, cut on my Silhouette. Each butterfly is then enhanced with a series of tiny butterflies cut from the 6 x 6″ version of the ‘This Moment‘ paper and the 6 x 6″ version of the ‘Heirloom Roses‘ papers.

The black and white striped border is the reverse of the ‘Heirloom Roses‘ paper, which I gutted before cutting into, leaving an intact frame!

So do you think I’ve gone butterfly crazy this month?
