Carta Bella 'Flower Market' | Jo Boland

Hey there! I’m back this month with projects featuring the gorgeous Carta Bella ‘Flower Market’ collection. I knew as soon as I saw this come in that I had to have it, especially as I love the vintage look and I’m training to be a florist. Just look at the loveliness!

I dug into the stash and made a scrapbook layout about the night before Valentine’s Day at the florist shop where I work. Sooo many bouquets and arrangements ready for delivery and collection on Valentine’s Day!

I used the beautiful B-side on the 12 x 12 Border Strip paper as my background with other pieces cut from the papers; woodgrain heart from the 2×2 squares paper, journaling card from the 3×4 journaling cards paper and the blue trellis from Market Days paper.

In addition to the papers I used; a flower truck and a word tag from the Adhesive Chipboard Phrases, a heart from the Adhesive Chipboard Accents, flower clusters (large and small) and a small heart from the 12 x 12 Cardstock Sticker Sheet, a ‘love’ heart die cut from the Icons Ephemera Die Cuts pack, a pink striped Decorative Bradenamel dots and Black & White Buffalo Washi Tape. The little foam alphas are actually from the Paige Evans ‘Whimsical’ collection, the rose gold ones go really well with this collection, which doesn’t have it’s own co-ordinating thickers.

I used foam pads to raise the edges of the flower stickers and the little heart at the top of the layout.

With Mother’s Day coming up at the end of this month I thought I’d make a Mother’s Day card and a thank you card.

The Mother’s Day card features papers from the Multi Journaling Cards paper (red gingham background and the word Happy), the blue trellis from Market Days paper, the tag is cut from the 3×4 Journaling Cards paper and the ‘hello’ is fussy cut from the 2×2 squares paper. I’ve added foam pads under the top of the tag and the fussy cut ‘hello’ and ‘happy’ to give them dimension.

The Thank You card has a background of Flower Market Floral paper, some more of the blue trellis Market Days paper, with two layered pieces cut from the 3×4 Journaling Cards paper. The flower truck chipboard piece is actually from the Decorative Brads pack, and the ‘thank you’ embroidery hoop is fussy cut from the Embroidery Hoops paper and popped up on foam pads to make it look dimensional.
Thank you for stopping by, I’ll be back towards the end of the month with more inspiration using the Carta Bella Flower Market collection.
Bye for now,
