Catching flies…

Apart from frogs or the Venus Fly Trap plant, when else do you catch flies?
The term ‘catching flies’ can used to describe someone fast asleep! And usually with their mouth agog!

I was recently caught in act and my husband decided to take a snap! Initially I might have been a bit annoyed… however I suddenly remembered the Potpourri collection from Pretty Little Studio!
This collection features an abundance of all things quaint! In fact, the Potpourri collection has a multitude of frogs and snails to toadstools and kites! It really is the epitome of randomness and I love it!

My first layout using this lovely range was aptly named ‘catching flies’… and uses the above said photo!

The circle background is created using a mixture of watercolour paints along with the green Jane Davenport Mermaid Marker. Cut files, plus die-cuts from the Potpourri range have been clustered around the circular shape. Pretty Little Studio doesn’t disappoint with at least two sets of flair badges per collection…
How cute is that maple leaf?

The die-cut frog is strategically placed just overlapping the photo, and is mounted on a selection of the papers from the 6 x 6″ pad.
The whole layout was then mounted on a paper from Amy Tan’s collection Hustle & Heart.

The second layout uses a similar combination of ranges, but focuses on blues and pink tones with hints of black!

The blue watercolour background gives just enough ‘pop’ for the cut file to be visible! And the two photos are mounted on a selection of the Potpourri and Carousel 6 x 6″ papers.

I loved the look of this range when I first saw it and once I scrapped with it, I loved it even more!

After all, where else would you find a snail and a circus big-top but on a scrapbooking layout?
