A Challenge of Multiple Photos

Hi Magpies,
This month I chose to challenge myself to do multiple photo layouts. I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I always take loads of photos of any occasion, and then just pick out one to scrap!! The others usually just get put in a drawer, or worse still, just stay stuck on my computer. Well this month, I thought I would try and get them all on my layouts.
The first layout I did included six photos, in both landscape and portrait and I used a new collection by Heidi Swapp – September Skies. I chose to use these pictures of my husband and daughter jet skiing in Turkey, as the colour of the photos went well with the papers. I bought a few of the 12×12 papers, the 6×6 paper pad and three packs of the embellishments – the ephemera pack, embellishments pack and the wood veneer. Between these packs, I had over two hundred pieces in a variety of styles and shapes. One of the best packs, was the embellishments, as they come in white with a stamped design on them.

You then just ink, mist or paint them in whatever colour suits your page. A great idea, as you get to coordinate with any layout. I stamped around the edges of the layout with some Heidi Swapp Stamps.

I then added the landscape photos on the right hand side, and the portrait ones on the bottom left. I added the inked embellishments around the page and over the photos.

My second layout is using the collection True Friend by Fancy Pants. I’ve used four small photos, matted together to show my daughters face being painted to look like a tiger. This is basically a grid design, layering up the papers and embellishments. I again got some 12×12 papers, the 6×6 pad and the patterned envelopes and folders, which I cut apart and layered. I also got the sticker sheet and flair badges, which are slightly larger than normal flair. I punched in a few places around the outside edge of the backing paper and stitched it into place. I added some Heidi Swapp Mists to the background and stamped some images using the Heidi Swapp stamps. I added all the layers across the bottom part of the layout, keeping the photos in the centre. I used two frames from the Notes and Things Collection by Crate Paper, backing them with paper from the 6×6 pad. I also attached a few cork shapes from the Elle’s Studio Sycamore Lane Collection and some sequins from Fancy Pants.

My finally layout uses the grand total of nine photos!! This layout is all about the beautiful cake that we had made for my daughters 18th birthday party, and highlights all the lovely details on it. I used a complete mix of products on this layout. The background paper, that I matted onto, is Basic Grey Highline. I gutted the middle out, and used the reverse side on the bottom half of the layout. Then using a mask and Gold Embossing Paste I stencilled onto the layout, and added a few flicks of Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I added the photos along the centre line, and embellished with gold accents from Maggie Holmes Open Book Epherema. I used a gold Flag Clip from Studio Calico and a Freckled Frawn Wow Paper Clip. I applied a few rub ons Notes and Things from Crate Paper, and the title is The Beautiful Gold Glitter Phrase Stickers from American Crafts.

Until next time!
