Cock a Hoop at Christmas.

Hi there x Sheena here.  With Christmas now only a few days away now I hope you are feeling all festive & ready to enjoy the holidays. Whilst looking around the Hey Little Magpie website I found a stitching section which got me thinking about creating using their embroidery hoops & I settled on making some christmas decorations using some of my favourite ranges of late.
Love.
Using the Maggie Holmes collection – Open Book.

This is a 4 inch hoop  and I’ve used a page from an old charity shop find book as the background. With a little patience & moulding the paper will sit well inside the hoop & the excess is trimmed off  level with the frame at the back for a clean look. The paper is misted with Heidi Swapp Gold color shine before the die cuts shapes were layered with the shapes I cut using the Maggie Holmes Love This die cut set. I used cork paper for one & kraft cardstock for the word which was then heat embossed.

This is a 4 inch hoop covered in Christmas food themed ephemera and stickers all layered using foam pads plus a hand cut  felt gingerbread man decorated with a little stitching and enamel dot features.

This is a 5 inch hoop with embossed vellum as the background. Using some of my favourite papers, I paper pieced the gingerbread house layering on foam then added the trees & sentiment from the ephemera  pack.

These look great hanging on my tree and make me smile that a little bit of scrapbooking will become part of our christmas & maybe I could add another hoop or two next year x
