Cocoa Vanilla Studios – Midnight

Hi Magpies, Pol here again with some new layouts using Cocoa Vanilla Midnight. I’ve had this collection for a little while and not had chance to break it out yet, so I was really looking forward to using it. I absolutely adore the colour palette and I’m a sucker for ombre papers!

The Story of Us

I absolutely love woodgrain papers too and I ended up buying about 4 of this gorgeous white one, Shine Bright! I wanted to make a feature of it so I cut it up into planks and distressed the edges. For contrast I adhered it to the dark blue ombre paper, Inky Depths. After that my layout came together really easily by itself. I used 3D gel glue for the photo, the frame, the ephemera and the title.

I used a chipboard frame, a flair button, and some ephemera on the opposite side of the page to balance it out.

My second layout also came together quite quickly. As soon as I saw the beautiful Sunset Strip paper I knew I wanted to turn it sideways and create a ‘half and half’ type page.

Shine Bright

For this page, I layered my photo onto two different patterned papers and adhered it to the centre of my page using foam pads. I then used flowers, leaves, and hearts from the ephemera pack vertically along the ‘join’ of the two colours. I used ‘Shine Bright’ from the words pack as my title.

I added two flair buttons with the flowers, and tucked some white thread behind them. The two large butterflies are fussy cut from the Butterfly paper in Websters Pages Love is in the Air collection. The colours perfectly matched the colours in the Midnight collection.

Thanks for reading, Magpies, see you later on in the month when I’ll be back with some inspiration for using the beautiful Midnight collection before the new Cocoa Vanilla collection comes out! (I’m so excited!)
