Colourful LO's with new WRMK!

Hi Magpies, welcome to February! Can you believe a whole month of the year has passed already? How does that happen?
Just in case you didn’t catch the two new releases by WRMK, they hit the shop a little while ago and there’s Love Notes and Clearly Bold. The Clearly Bold line is so bright and cheerful, the acetate is lush and will work fantastically to make cards for PL pocket pages and the Love Notes line is so pretty with a watercolour effect on a lot of the papers.
I started my LO’s this month using the Love Notes line. I’ve used a mixture of papers, both sides of the Count the Ways paper, some strips from the Wild Love paper and from the 6X6 pad, the beautiful Secret Crush paper and some strips of the Weekending Paper. I embellished with some of the Love Notes Cork Shape Stickers, my title is a Heidi Swapp, September Skies wood veneer word and I’ve added some word stickers from the Heidi Swapp, Favourite Things, Word Jumble Stickers and Dreamy, Word Jumble Stickers some Freckled Fawn Glitter Enamel Stars – Neon and the final touch was an exclusive HLM Flair badge, Pink Heart on Grid.

My next LO is a very old picture of my cat, he was so young here, he’s now 12 and very podgy lol! I started with the bold striped Love Notes, Wild Love paper. I was inspired by a friend of mine who always does amazing LO’s on patterned paper backgrounds, to try and use something other than a white background for a change. It worked and I managed 2 LO’s without using a white background, so thanks Staci! I used the Love Notes Sweetheart paper from the 6×6 pad and the lime green spotty acetate from the Clearly Bold 6×6 pad in behind. Then I embellished with bits and bobs from the Heidi Swapp, September Skies Ephemera Pack. I used an HLM Flair Badge as well as the large lime green star from the Heidi Swapp PL Eclusives, Outline Words pack. My title is one of the awesome watercolour words from the Dear Lizzy Serendipidy Watercolor Paper Die Cut Words Pack. These word are fab. I spritzed mine with some Studio Calico Mister Huey and the swished a lighter colour of mist over the top with a paintbrush to give it a more mottled effect.  Some of the acetate embellishments I used are see-through, so I adhered them with Glossy Accents and it worked perfectly and can’t be seen. To adhere the sheet of dotty acetate I just put my usual adhesive, Herma Repositionable, behind the photo where it can’t be seen. So the rest of the sheet is just flapping loose, but it’ll be fine once it’s in a page protector (which, knowing me, will be in about 10 years time when I finally tackle that massive pile that’s building up!).

For my last LO I used the reverse side of the Love Notes, Love & Adore paper. I admit, it did give me heart palpitations to use such a bold colour in the background I can tell you. The picture is of New York (I stole it from the internet since I’ve never been there to take my own) and I read a prompt online to scrap about song lyrics and I wanted to scrap about these, so I did! I used a sheet of the purple striped acetate from the Clearly Bold 6×6 pad because it just matched the colours of the picture, perfectly! My title uses some old Heidi Swapp letters in turquoise and some older Amy Tangerine Thickers which are now out of stock (damn it, they’re my favourite ever!). I embellished with the Clearly Bold Enamel Shapes and the Clearly Bold Wood Veneer Stickers which are fab. The final touch was some of the amazing puffy arrow stickers from the MAMBI Love Arrows pack. I also used some Heidi Swapp Icon Stickers (turquoise circles on the left and the pink hearts on the bottom right of the photo) which are now out of stock in the shop, but if you have a pack of them, know that you can cut them apart quite easily. I cut a strip off the circles and of the hearts and they look fab. So you can get loads of use out of them.

I loved working with the new WRMK collections and I am chuffed that they did make me break out of my white background rut, at least for 2 LO’s anyway! I’m so looking forward to the new collections that are coming soon in the shop from CHA, check out the expected times on the shop here. I can not wait for the Crate Paper, Craft Market collection and the new Maggie Holmes looks super lush too! See you on March 1st!
