Crate Paper – Merry Days

Hello Magpies, well we are  just beyond the middle of the November and I am  definitely on the countdown to Christmas.  I love this season, everyone seems to be more jolly, the lights, the Winter smells, it seems like everyone is spreading good cheer and following along with the title of  the collection I’m using this month, having Merry Days.  I’ve choosen Crate Paper –  Merry Days, one of the many Christmas collections in the shop.
I really love this collection as it as different colours tones than the traditional ones, but still offered a beautiful palette of colour for the season.
Joy

I started the page by adding some colour to  Crate Paper – Merry Days – Mistletoe Paper   After mounting the paper on some patterned paper,  I selected some of the tags from Crate Paper – Merry Days – Die Cut Tag Kit, chipboard banners from Crate Paper – Merry Days – Chipboard Elements, word stickers from Crate Paper – Merry Days – 6×12 Sticker Sheet.  I also added some stamped words from Elle’s Studio – Everyday Phases.

On a few of the tags I added 3D foam pads to give them some dimension, as well as backing some with patterned paper and outlined the cut out words with black ink so that the words stood out.

Some lovely red and white twine was included with the tags, which I added to a few of the tags.

Christmas Treats

Another indulgence for this season are the wonderful flavours of hot chocolate and latte thats are available.  James loves to try the various hot chocolate flavours – this one was Black Forest hot chocolate and I had a Toffee Nut latte at a local coffee shop and they didn’t disappoint.
My starting point for this layouts was the Crate Paper – Merry Days – Peace Paper, cutting approximately 8” x 5” and lightly distressed the edges. Adding a few sheets from Crate Paper – Merry Days – 6×8 pad, to form a paper stack for my photographs.
Down the left hand side of the cardstock I added a a 4.5” x 12” piece of Crate Paper – Merry Days – printed vellum, and positioned the paper stack over the top and added my photographs.
For my title I used both the Alphabet Tickers and Phase Thickers from this collection.

I finished the layout with small clusters of embellishments from this collection including punching tabs from the gold glitter cardstock which was in the Crate Paper – Merry Days – Die Cut Tag kit.  You get 10 small sheets in the pack which is plenty to add some gold detail to your projects.

Merry Christmas

I used the b-side of Crate Paper – Merry Days –Sleigh Ride Paper and cut around the border, which I then added to  Crate Paper – Merry Days -Frosty Days Paper using a simple paper stack behind my photograph.  I added some of the tags from the Die Cut Tag pack, some die cuts from  Crate Paper – Merry Days Ephemera pack, Crate Paper – Merry Days – Puffy Stickers.

I also die cut some stars from the small gold glitter cardstock used previously and one of the Crate Paper – Merry Days – Shaker Stickers.
Adding some wood veneer stars from my stash and stars from the Crate Paper – Merry Days – Accent Puffy Thickers.

I will be add the remainder of this collection to my Christmas Journal and will be sharing some of the pages later.
If you have this collection please share how you have used it on our Facebook group, we would love to see them.
Till Next time
