Easter Bunny! – SIMPLE STORIES – Bunnies and Blooms – WENDY MEFFAN

Hey Magpies! A new month and I’m back on the blog using Simple Stories Bunnies and Blooms Collection. It is full of gorgeous pastel colours just perfect for Springtime and Easter. As soon as I saw the pink bunnies I knew I had the perfect photos and also the idea to draw a large bunny face on the LO. I did do a class with Lisa Fonseca a couple of years ago and remembered we had drawn large faces so some inspiration must be credited to Lisa.

I started by drawing the bunny on the 12×12 Choose Happy paper and then I sewed around the edge of it and distressed the edges. I made a mixed media background with distress oxides and then splatters in white paint and added the bunny to it. I trimmed my 12×12 white card stock and added a border to it from the 12×12 In Full Bloom paper.

I then cut up completely the 12×12 Tags paper  and chose three tags which had pink and green on them. I distressed the edges and added some bakers twine though each of them. I matted my three photos and attached them over the top.

I then made a little cluster to the left hand side of the photos using chipboard stickers, puffy stickers and ephemera .

I really wanted to use the the bunny tag from the tag sheet and so made a small cluster in the top right corner along with a couple of pieces from the ephemera pack.

Finally I added a few decorative brads and a couple of Bramblefox butterfly perspextives

SPRING IS HERE!

For my second LO I was desperate to use the beautiful stencil that comes with this collection so I made that the focal point of the LO.

I used watercolour paint through the stencil and made sure it was central on the page. I then chose my photos my Spring flowers and matted it with 12×12 Bunny Love paper.I gutted the 12×12 4×6 elements paper

I then chose a couple more tags in the lilac colour to the  left side of the photo and added bakers twine. I popped a chipboard stick and a decorative brad to the side of them.

I added some ephemera  under the photo to create some layers and again a tag which I placed on its side. I then found in my stash the Bloom perspextive from Bramblefox which was perfect both in colour and design and size for my LO .

I then concentrated on the top of my LO and used the Spring banner chipboard sticker  and added a small puffy rainbow sticker to the middle of it.

In the opposite corner I used another tag again coordinating to the LO colours and added the hello Spring ephemera over the top on sticky fixers, finally I added the puffy bunny sticker and another decorative brad.

I love both of these LO and the colours are so beautiful although possibly paler than I would normally use.

Why not take a look in the shop if you’ve not considered this collection? I look forward to seeing your LO posted on the Hey Little Magpie Facebook page.

Till next time …. Happy Scrapping!
