Elle’s Studio – Sunny Days

Elle's Studio - Sunny DaysFor my card projects this month I’ve been using the aptly named Sunny Days collection from Elle’s Studio. It’s filled with lots of vibrant primary colours, summery accents, and some really fun elements.

Much of the line has flown out of the store, so well done if you managed to grab it!

There were a few items that caught my eye in particular and I’ve used them for my projects today:

I really love the 6×6 paper pack format Elle’s Studio uses, the papers are double sided and don’t need to be detached from a pad which makes working out what goes with what on a project that much easier. I’m really hoping the continue including this format in future releases too!

But back to the Sunny Days collection and on with the card projects:

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Happy birthday sunshine card For this card I combined the 6×6 paper pack with the 12×12 Stars paper so that I could cut out an aperture from those blue rays for the sun puffy sticker to fit just right inside that circle.Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Happy birthday sunshine card - detail

The puffy stickers include word accents and these cute little stars. They add a nice bit of pop just like enamel dots. The Small Blank Labels in this collection are also perfect for adding stamped greetings.

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Make a wish cardThere’s a great mix of patterns in the 6×6 pack that work well for birthday projects like this one. I love all the stars in the line and thought it would be great to add some die-cut star apertures and fill them with contrasting papers.

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - 4 today cardThe rainbow colours in this line are awesome. I love this striped paper in particular! I was having too much fun using simple dies to add apertures to cards, but they make for such a basic yet fun design element when you have bold patterns like this.

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Pirate birthday cardThe pink number and letter stickers in the line are a great size for cards too. As soon as I saw the wave paper in the 6×6 pack I knew there was a pirate card to be made! The woodgrain pattern is ideal for adding a frame.

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Celebrate cardIn addition to the more detailed designs there are also some nice clean and simple patterns too – I love this diagonal stripe pattern and think it’s great for boy cards.

Mind you, I couldn’t help pairing it with hearts and stars either so… But just adding a simple die-cut greeting on one of the labels and the ephemera star and a few layered sequins make for a very simple yet eye-catching card design.

Elle's Studio - Sunny Days - Smile, it's your briday cardThere was no way I wasn’t going to find a use for the lollipop paper in this collection. It is so fun and colourful!

I ended up using left over scraps from my other cards to make this one – the woodgrain frame is cut from the inside of the pirate card frame, and the star is a die-cut from the aperture star card. I scored it to make a dimensional star then flipped it over and it looks a little like a marquee style light here on the card.

So lots of fun elements in the Sunny Days collection that you can use on card projects as well as album pages. :)

Until next time, happy crafting!
