Embellishments to die for!

Hi All, please excuse the pun, but it just had to be done!  I am really excited to be back here on the blog for my second post, I am also really looking forward to Autumn arriving and cozy nights in the warm crafting away and drinking hot chocolate.  Anyway I digress, I am here to show you something a bit different for me.  I recently got the Shimelle  dies when her new products came out and this lead me to dust off my big shot and to have a play, I also stocked up on a few other dies as well, whilst the mood struck.
I started off by cutting out lots of different elements, I used the Pebbles Jen Hadfield Home + Made Collection , Studio Calico Brighton Pier and the American Crafts Shimelle Collection, I used the 6×6 papers as the designs are the right scale.  I also used some Cork that had been in my stash for 6+ years, I may have even had it when I was at university!  Once it was all cut out I set about making some embellishments, I didn’t have any projects in mind, and just had great fun playing.  You can see a VIDEO of my process here and the final embellishments.
#111

After I had a pile of embellishments, I started thinking about projects to use them on, the first of course being 12×12 scrapbook LO’s.  These embellishments made it super quick to put the pages together and worked really well with my style.  First up is this page , it will be going in my USA travel album and will act as a title page for a series of pocket page photos, so did not need to be overly detailed. VIDEO here.

The second page I created will be going at the end of this album, and the journaling that will be added will be me reflecting on the trip and the time we had 2 years later,  I really like adding this kind of page to a large series of albums for a trip, this 9 day trip has 3 albums!  I did go a bit sequin crazy on this page too, I have had them in my stash for so long, and this seemed a good way to use them up.  I used two of the B-side from the recent Jillibean Soup Birthday Bisque , I love how these are not themed at all.  I have posted a video of the LO process here.

After I completed the LO’s I decided whilst I had the albums out I could add a few title cards and embellishments to the pocket pages.  Again these came together really quickly and just added  a little bit of detail to the title and journaling cards.

After I had completed these I had a couple of embellishments left, so decided to do something out of the ordinary for me and make a couple of cards, I have been seeing more and more beautiful cards being made lately, especially on this blog, and it was very easy to do with these embellishments.

I hoped you have enjoyed seeing the variety of things I have made with these embellishments, and how I incorporated them in to my scrapping style.  I defiantly will be doing this again, especially when I want to be creative, but I am not necessarily in the mood for making a 12×12 page.  Please do go check out my YouTube channel where you will see the videos of the projects featured her today and over 100 other different projects.
