Hi there x Sheena here again x
Whilst looking at the last release of new ranges one in particular caught my eye – Barista from Basic Grey. Now I’ll be honest with you I am not a coffee drinker & I actually hate the smell but luckily it was the great colour combination of this range, black, grey, yellow & kraft, that won me over & had me purchasing the Barista collection pack, the frames & stickers. Only a few of the stickers are actually themed so I am happy.
Spread the Love.
My brother got married recently & I felt these papers were perfect to showcase this professional photo taken just before his Bride entered the church.
The little packet I’ve included contained wild flower seeds to take home for each guest so hence the title. I layered & tore the edges of the papers to add texture & included a torn pleated section of the paper bag my order arrived in. The white on white die cut flowers give more subtle texture & some machine sewing was also added for detail.
Layers were added under the photo to add depth & focus.
Mr & Mrs.
Another wedding photo including my daughter as bridesmaid in the foreground.
I wanted to create a sophisticated look & I loved the pack of ornate frames so I picked out the ones to match my colour theme. I used the Barista information sheet from the collection pack for the small patterned paper samples to fill the frames. Title is die cut & Barista alpha stickers.
I added a hand cut frame & frame sticker to the photo then added a few embellishments to finish the page.
This last page features a colour photo taken on a day out over the summer.
After 2 ‘clean’ pages I decided to add a little mixed media to this one with smooched & dripped mist & some texture paste through a stencil.
The photo was layered on various papers from the pack plus more of the brown paper bag. The leaves were cut out then hand sewn down in a tumbling circle around the photo.
I hope these pages help to show that Barista is a really versatile collection from Basic Grey.
Till next time x
