Falala by Crate Paper
I make no apologies for sharing Christmas projects in October, in fact I’m surprised I held off for so long! I love all things Crate Paper, and I absolutely adore this ‘Falala‘ collection. For me it is the perfect combination of sweet vintage images and a beautiful colour palette.
The first layout ‘Falalalala’ uses the b-side of the paper ‘Fireside‘ as the background, with gorgeous chipboard elements, die-cut ephemera and bits from the cut a part paper ‘Greetings‘. I just love how it came together, the mix of the soft pinks, red and blue and that cute chipboard house, banner and sweet deer card. I raised the top edges of the tags and cards with foam pads to add dimension and mounted the whole of the cardstock tree on foam pads too.
I initially struggled to get the chipboard elements out of the 12×12 sheet without the adhesive part being left behind. Then I had a brainwave, I peeled away the backing from the 12×12 sheet and carefully replaced it. This made all the difference and the rest of the elements came out fine, yay!
I typed my journaling on my typewriter, cut it into strips and popped them up on foam pads to help them stand out from the cream background.
My second layout ‘Merry Christmas’ uses the ‘Evergreen‘ paper as the background, the cute little fir trees printed all over it was rather perfect for a layout about a Christmas day walk in the forest. I repeated the gold glitter seen on the chipboard title around the page with die-cut snowflakes from the ephemera pack.
The large red ‘happy holidays’ tag is from the cut a part paper and which I mounted on foam to lift it off the paper and the ’25’ card is cut from the ‘December‘ paper.
I again used a mix of chipboard elements, die-cut ephemera pieces and bits from the cut a part paper for my large photo cluster.
My third layout ‘Believe’ goes back to my ‘go to’ white cardstock background for a more minimalist page. I used the stockings die-cut as my starting piece and repeated the colours from that with the other embellishments, including those little epoxy star stickers from the epoxy sticker pack which can be seen on the Joy die-cut tag.
All the other pieces used in this layout came from the ephemera die-cut pack and the 12×12 chipboard elements sheet, including the title ‘believe’. I typed my journaling again, but this time glued it flat to the page.
There were so many lovely pieces left in the ephemera pack and on the chipboard sheet that I set about making some Christmas cards. I could have carried on making lots more! The smaller size of the epoxy stickers make them perfect for cards.
[First card – spotty paper is the b-side of the ‘Greetings‘ cut a part paper, vintage scene is ‘Wonderland‘ paper (my favourite), glitter washi from my stash, cut out tag from Greetings paper, epoxy stickers.
