Feeling Autumnal and Bright

Hi Everyone and welcome to my October blog post.  It feels like we are now in to Autumn officially and I am enjoying reaching for my knitwear and I love being cozy in the dark evenings.  I also love autumnal paper collections, normally as theses contain lots of dark rich colours.
I decided to mix my Jen Hadfield Heart of Home papers from my last blog post with some of the new Illustrated Faith  Gratitude Documented.  I will admit this is the first time I have brought anything from the Illustrated Faith brand, but I just loved the colours in the collection.  It reminded me of Basic Grey papers from back in the day.

As with many one of the first signs of autumn is the return of a certain flavoured coffee from a certain coffee establishment.  I also wanted to make an effort to use my Silhouette Cameo so I used a couple of designs that I had in library from their store, I have a lot of Autumnal theme cuts in my library.

I used a dark woodgrain paper from the Jen Hadfield 12×12 paper pad to cut out my coffee cup design and used papers from the Gratitude Documented collection to back fill this.  This collection comes with a 6×8 paper pad, the papers are all double sided and work great for back filling designs.

I added stitching around some of the word in order to make the title pop.

I kept my photo cluster small, as I wanted to make the title the focal point, as it complemented the journalling.  I added some of the die-cuts and the chipboard pieces to add to the page.  I love how the saturated colours work with the dark woodgrain tones.

For my second layout I went with another Jen Hadfield paper as my background and cut out this fabulous bold cut file from the Silhouette store.  I backed this with one of the b-sides of the Gratitude Documented collection, I love the bold patterns together.

I added stitched detail to the cut file to add some additional texture.

I used a number of the cut-a-part cards to mat my photo on to, this works really well to use some of the designs that don’t suit my style.  I also used one of the cards as part of my title, even though these are from the Illustrated Faith collection you can use the wording in different contexts.

I used the alpha which is on the sticker sheet that comes with the collection, its a great bold alpha.
I really enjoyed using this collection and look forward to taking more autumnal photos to go with these papers.  I hope you all have a wonderful October and I will see you in November.
