Hey Little Magpie Blog

Gather…

There are many things we gather in life… our thoughts, the leaves and even when sewing!

And one thing I’ve gathered when using the latest Maggie Holmes collection is that I adore it!

The 12 x 12″ Gather papers are stunning – I was especially smitten with the birds paper ‘Kindred’

So I decided that for this months’ layouts I would use a piece of paper to cover a third of the cardstock, along with an accent piece of paper – for this layout I used ‘Melody’ and a gathered section of crepe paper from my own stash!

By now you probably know I like random, so when I saw these emoticon flair badges by Freckled Fawn I knew they wouldn’t be leaving my basket… How cute is that rosette? Its such a sweet size – not overly big as so many of them seem to be!

The mixed embellishment pack came with two adorable bows – simple to make, but lets face it, if its down for you, why faff – you can have more time for scrapping!

The chipboard accents are a lovely mix of larger words, in a diverse range of fonts and styles along with many shapes.

Write it on your heart

I love fussy cutting and when I saw the Jane paper, featuring an abundance of roses and gorgeous leaves, I knew my fine scissors were coming out to play!

In the foiled accent stickers there are the cutest little birds – I took great delight (and a lot of foam sticker pads!) to cite this bird on top of the acrylic frame – these were from my stash, but you could easily recreate them from cardstock.

I do have a thing for tassels – again in recent collections they seem to have been a bit too large to comfortably use. However, the ones in this collection are so dinky, they are even ideal for carmakers.

The ‘favourite’ paper features a black check design, and whilst probably too heavy to use as an all over paper, it was ideal as the accent paper in my second layout.

Sweet

Clearly the girls had been messing around, posing no doubt when they captured this photo on Nina’s phone!

Although there is six years between Olivia and Nina, the girls are such great friends…

It’s so sweet to see what they have been up to!

And because they are girly girls, it seemed only appropriate that the ballerina sticker be used… And the piano sticker, maybe slightly random, but random is good!
