Hello Autumn and hello to a new collection from Fancy Pants Designs ‘Golden Days’. For my Hey Little Magpie Creative Team projects this month I ordered  a couple of 12×12 papers ‘Hazy Days’ and ‘Forever With You’, the Cardstock & Acetate Ephemera Die Cuts, Leaf Paperclips and the Decorative Tags. I also ordered a pack of fabulous ‘Today’ Acrylic Words and Black & Gold Phrase Washi Tape, both by Freckled Fawn and Simple Stories Hello Fall ‘Pile of Smiles‘.

Layout 1 – Autumn Beauty

I began with the floral side of the ‘Forever With You’ paper and cut out a 10×10″ square from the middle so that I didn’t waste all that lovely paper in the centre. The resulting frame with backed on to a piece of cardstock and a 11×11″ piece of white cardstock adhered centrally over the frame. A strip of this fabulous phrase washi tape by Freckled Fawn was placed across the middle of the white cardstock. Four 2.5″ square photos were mounted on foam pads above the washi tape with a tag from the tag pack tucked under the left hand one, with a gold heart glued on top. One of the acrylic Today words from the two pack was adhered with glue dots under the tape at the left side of the layout with a die-cut word ‘October’ from the die-cut pack mounted on foam pads just above.

I created a cluster of embellishments on the bottom right with a tag, a label and three die-cut pieces. Stapled under the photo on the right is another die-cut with a gold heart added on top. Finally at the top of the right is two phrase die-cuts ‘and I think to myself’ ‘what a wonderful world’.

Layout 2 – Amazing Cloud

With this layout I started with a 8.5×11″ piece of white cardstock and used the reverse side of the piece cut from the ‘Forever with you’ paper for the first layout which I trimmed and adhered to the bottom of the layout. I pulled floral die-cuts, both cardstock and acetate and layered these over and beneath the photo and journaling card. The tag and label are from the decorative tag pack, while everything else is from the die-cut pack, with the exception of the journaling card which is from Simple Stories The Reset Girl collection. I added a title with gold script letter stickers from the Maggie Holmes ‘Gather’ collection. More of that fabulous phrase washi tape was added at the bottom of the layout with a key die-cut accent tucked underneath.

Layout 3 – Huge Leaf

For this layout I thought I’d cut a big leaf from a 8.5×11″ sheet of cardstock and back it with the ‘Hazy Days’ paper. I selected a clip art image in Word similar to the leaf in my photo and printed it out, taped it to my cardstock as a template with washi tape and cut it out with a craft knife. I added stitching to outline of the leaf by piercing the cardstock before back stitching with two strands of embroidery thread. I stuck a piece of the patterned paper to another sheet of cardstock and mounted the stitched cardstock on top with foam tape and foam pads to make it really stand out.
I tore a strip of Simple Stories ‘Pile of Smiles’ paper, added a line of stitching to it and adhered it with double-sided tape to the bottom of the layout. I added a little piece of the paper to the top, layered a dated label and another acrylic Today by Freckled Fawn. I made a layered cluster of a printed 3×4″ acetate, a sticky note from Simple Stories The Reset Girl collection, a circle die-cut, my photo and held it together with a cute leaf paperclip. (I added glue dots to each layer to keep everything in position).

The title is made of foam thickers from the Maggie Holmes ‘Gather’ collection which has two sizes of letters in the pack, love that! I added some washi tape phrases and popped up a word label from the die-cut pack on foam pads to the top right corner. And finally I added some orange enamel dots, one above the words, one on the photo cluster and three on the paper strip at the bottom right to form a visual triangle.
Layout 3 – Autumn Splendor

My last layout for the month is again 8.5×11″ with a white background. I took inspiration for this layout from the 3×4″ card in the die-cut pack which says ‘Autumn is a second Spring with every leaf a flower’ and printed a photo taken in the woods a few days previous. I covered the middle section of the cardstock with a piece of the Simple Stories ‘Pile of Leaves’ paper and fussy cut out 15 leaves from spare paper. I layered the card on a 3×4″ printed acetate, secured it in position with glue dots and added a couple of paperclips for effect. I layered the photo on a piece of Hazy Days paper with a decorated tag and sticky note tucked under the photo and attached a leaf paperclip. I added a printed falling leaves acetate die-cut to the bottom left of the layout, a word label for my title at the top right and a journal label below the photo. Lastly I added foam pads to the back of the cut out leaves and stuck them on top of printed leaves on the paper in a diagonal formation from top right to bottom left.
