Good Vibes, what a great collection!

Happy New Year & Good Vibes Magpies!!! Welcome to 2018. I am starting off the year using the Crate Paper, Good Vibes collection and I LOVE IT! I struggled with my scrapping in 2017, I lost my mojo a bit for sure but this collection got me excited again. I loved using it and I’m already working on LO’s for my February post using it too, that’s how much I love it, I’m using it twice! To me it’s classic Crate Paper, lovely colours and very useable. I do love how Crate Papers collections all gel together, so you can mix them all up, they all go.
I ordered a lot of the collection and then went back for more! It’s just so lush. My first LO I just layered up a whole lot of stuff from the Die Cut Ephemera Pack, some bits of paper from the 6×6 Paper Pad and also the striped bits are from the Passion Paper which is one of my favourites and I did cut those different coloured strips apart a lot. I had gathered up some of the tags and things from the Ephemera pack and spread them out on my white background and that started off this LO. I added in bits of papers and I actually ended up just lifting bits and using adhesive under them cause I loved the composition and didn’t want to dismantle it and lose it if you know what I mean. So I glued things from the top down lol!
The frame around my photo is from an old Crate Paper collection but it’s been hanging about on my desk for ages so I used it up. My title uses the ampersand from the Ephemera pack and then the letters are Freckled Fawn. I’ve also used some bits from the Maggie Holmes Carousel and Chasing Dreams collections because they go so well! I do love the black & white striped Fabric Bows from Carousel, I am on my second packet of them and they’re just the perfect size for LO’s, they make a statement and they’re lush! I’ve also added some yellow pom-poms from my stash but you can get similar in the Small Mixed Embellishments Pack.

I have been loving pom-poms with this collection and the Pom-Pom Frames were one of my favourite products so definitely sign up for an email when they’re back in stock, they are so cool as you’ll see on my next LO. But they inspired me to dig out some pom-pom trims from my stash and I’m going to try and make my own frames and see how hard it is!

I started this LO with the frames and picked some photos to go in them. I made a grid with papers from the 6×6 Paper Pad. My title uses the High Five Puffy Word Thickers, it actually said #1 fan so I cut the a up so it said fun instead! The lush bird is from the 12×12″ Chipboard Accents Stickers sheet and I’ve used some other bits from the Ephemera Pack. The super cool puffy star stickers are from Bella Blvd. I got the Bell Pepper and Punch Mix packs and I’ll definitely be going back for more colours. I created a border on this page with strips cut from the Passion Paper and then a border of Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I loved the pink Flourish Paper and wanted to use that as a background for a LO, so I started with that on white cardstock (I always use American Crafts White because I love how brilliant white it is). I used a couple of offcuts from the striped Passion Paper down the sides and then used Ebony Black, Carnation Pink and Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops as an extra border. Then I layered up some papers from the 6×6 Paper Pad under my photo. Then I used a couple of the pieces from the Ephemera Pack and the title is from the High Five Puffy Word Thickers Pack. I used a couple of the lovely metal charms from the Charm Embellishments Pack, some pom-poms and some metal photo turns from my stash (my Mum bought me over hoards of them from New Zealand so I am stocked up again, thanks Mum!) which I’ve just realised I must put some brads through, whoops!

All of the LO’s I’d done so far using Good Vibes have been on a white background, so I wanted to do something on black for a change (and man, it’s so much easier to photograph a black background lol!). I pfaffed about with this one for ages, in fact, it had a whole different photo & title on it for a few days and then I changed it out for this one and was like yep, that’s better! I layered up some offcuts and scraps I had on my desk so they’re not all from Good Vibes. The green paper behind my photo is actually a really old Maggie Holmes paper from a 6×6″ paper pad. The green stripe is from my favourite Passion Paper, so don’t think you need to keep that paper in one sheet, I cut a sheet up into the different coloured stripes straight away and got so much use out of it! The black and white diagonal stripes are the Rose Park Paper from Maggie Holmes Carousel Collection. I used some of the chipboard stickers from the 12×12 Chipboard Accents sheet, that bird and flower are so cool I am sure I could use them over and over again! A border with my favourite pink Flourish Paper and some Dandelion Nuvo Dots finished things off for this LO.

For my next LO, I chanelled myself and what I did with some extra large wedding photos for this blog post way back in September 2014. That was using the Notes & Things collection which was another of my favourites. I found this photo of my back on my 39th birthday and decided to do it in the same style as my wedding photo LO’s from way back when. Sometimes you don’t need much on a LO when the bits you do you use are fab! Mind you, I don’t think it’s easy creating simple LO’s, this one too a lot of fiddling to get right! Seriously, I could not decide what paper to use for that strip down the left hand side and went though pretty much all of the ones in the collection! Eventually I settled on the kraft coloured reverse of the All Good Paper and then used the tiny little strip I trimmed off, on the right hand side too. I dotted on some Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Dots.
For the title I layered some pink Flourish Paper behind the die cut kraft tag from the Ephemera Pack and then used the Good Vibes from the 12×12 Chipboard Accents sheet. The butterfly is from Maggie Holmes Chasin Dreams and I think they just sold out in the end of year sale so well done if you got a pack of those cause they’re super cool! I bought some straws from Ikea and I thought the colours of them really matched the Good Vibes collection. So I used one of the turquoise ones and cut it into little bits. I popped them across the bottom of the LO and they do make an interesting accent!

So that’s my first batch of LO’s using Crate Papers Good Vibes Collection. I loved making these and I already have about 4 LO’s to show you in February as well. Definitely check this collection out, it is super lush and just so useable! Happy New Year Magpies, I’m looking forward to seeing you again in February!
