Hello again Magpies, I’m back with two more layouts to share today using the My Mind’s Eye ‘Happy Days’ collection. I sometimes struggle to find a collection that will suit boys so I was pleased to find this one in the Hey Little Magpie shop! It’s bright and fun but not exclusively for boys as there’s a touch of muted pink as well.
My first page uses a cut file from the Silhouette store which I wanted to use to show the variety of patterns in the collection.
First, I cut down a sheet of dark green cardstock and glued it to the pink patterned paper to form a background frame. Then I chose two of the cut file frames to use for my photos and set about filling the others with a selection of patterns, stickers and chipboard elements.
I cut the words ‘Happy Days’ from the packaging as it suited the theme of my photos.
Then I cut a flower from one of the papers, added it beside the top photo and I glued a fun chipboard chicken to the lower edge of the cut file.
I wrote my journalling in one of the frames and added a couple of enamel dots to finish it off.
My second layout is quite different as I used a stamped background as the base. There’s an overall theme to this collection relating to ‘home’ so I took advantage of that to go with my photo.
I back filled the ‘Love’ cut file and glued it to the left of the base cardstock and added my photo, which is mounted on a white and a patterned paper, towards the bottom of the page. Then I fussy cut some chickens to go along the left edge of the page and added some chipboard flowers too.
I used a chipboard house to the right of the photo and tucked two tags behind it at the top. I wrote my journalling on the stripy one.
I had the phrase sticker in my stash but I crossed out the word ‘heart’ to add ‘dog’ instead using puffy alphabet stickers!
Thanks for joining me today, I’ll be back later in the month with two more layouts that show the versatility of this collection.
Until then, happy scrapping everyone.
