Hi Magpies, I’m back with my first 2 layouts for July. Summer is really upon us now so I started off with a summer themed page, using a cut file from the Silhouette Store. I particularly liked this design as it uses the negative image so I cut it directly out of the background page, making sure that the space between the 2 words was big enough for my photo. Then I backed it with yellow cardstock.
I added some sprinkles using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine inks in green and yellow across the centre of the page. I backed the photo with some floral paper and added that to the centre of the page. Then I used lots of stickers to run vertically down the right edge of the photo, with some enamel dots here and there!
I added Noah’s name to a tag using a Pinkfresh Studios alphabet and placed that below the title. (These are showing out of stock but hopefully will be available soon.)
I added a die cut tag on the left of the photo and placed a flower sticker above it.
I finished the layout by placing a word sticker vertically along the outside edge of the stickers.
The second layout is rather different as I used a selection of alphabets as a main feature. I started by applying some pale green paint to the background, using the packaging technique. Then I added some pale grey paint through a dotted patterned stencil, highlighting some dots by drawing around them.
I mounted the photo onto two patterned papers and added it just above the centre and to the left of the page.
I chose a journalling square which I placed on the right of the photo embellishing it with stickers, enamel dots and gold stars. I typed the journalling and used the logo of the karate club to add to the information.
Having worked out the placement of the mixed alphabets I glued them below the photo, adding some enamel dots alongside each word. I drew some sketchy borders around each word to highlight them. Most of these alphabets are available in the shop.
I trimmed the edge from a sticker to place under the left edge of the photo and glued the word ‘remember’ above the photo with little gold star to finish it off.
I’ll be back later in the month with two more layouts using ‘Heart’, until then, happy scrapping everyone!
