Holidays, WKND Vibes & more
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you today & this month I choose to use the fab new collection ‘Oasis’ by Crate Paper. I’ve always been a fan of Crate Paper & this collection didn’t disappoint.
My first layout ‘sunshine getaway’ I wanted to focus on all the palm tree leaves that were in the die-cut pack, sticker sheet & chipboard element sheet. I first inked & splattered 2 pieces of paper, one in greens & another in pinks & then die-cut some of my own leaves out of it. I added inks, texture paste & splatters to a piece of woodgrain paper, from my stash, & added ‘spring break’ paper above it, I then placed my two photos in the middle, on a mat of papers from the 6×6 paper pad & layered all the leaves underneath, adding pop dots to some for added dimension. I added a torn strip of the woodgrain paper & another few leaves at the top to finish the layout.
My 2nd layout ‘WKND Vibes’ is all about our great weekend break in Amsterdam & this collection was perfect for it. I first gessoed the postcard paper & stamped, all down the left side, with the dates we were there. I then added some inks & splatters, in pink, blue & yellow, where I knew my photos were going. I then positioned them from top left to bottom right adding in all the bits & pieces, from the collection, that referred to the weekend, die-cuts, chipboard, puffy stickers & small word stickers.
For my last layout I went back to the beach & back in time with a very old photo of my Mom & daughter. I first cut all the tags out of the ‘Destination gold foiled vellum sheet’ & added a few of those to a ripped piece of ‘palm springs paper’. I then ripped the bottom of the white cardstock & added those all together finishing with a piece of ‘spring break paper’ at the bottom. Above the paper layers I added some inking & my photo on a mat. I cut the word ‘beach’ on my silhouette & backed it with papers from the 6×6 paper pad. I put that at the bottom of my photo & embellished around it, having to add those fab flamingos & cute chipboard cossie piece.
