Honey, I'm home!
Hi!
For this month I made a very special project… and I am soooo pleased with the result!
The project is a interactive book. I used mostly things from the collection Honey I’m Home from WRMK. When I saw the collection I knew instantly that it would be perfect for this project (I have been planning this for several months now!). And I loved the colors in this collection and all the ephemera pieces!
Lets go through the pages and start with the front page. A very simple front… because I had so little left to play with! And I first made another front page… but then I punched the holes for the wire on the wrong side. Duh!
I really like the blues and the yellows in this collection. I really like a good yellow! The pink and the red is also nice. But I thought there was a bit too much wood grain on one of the cut apart sheets!
First page is a wall with photos in frames. I love that the sofa is a bit too small… and the light bulb is a bit too large! Fun!
Here is a a nice window with pots of flowers. I cut out the window with my silhouette.
A shelf with things for the kitchen. I added some flowers to make it more interesting. I love that the papers from this collection looks like wallpaper… suits my project perfectly!
Last, we have a page with some houses. I took the background paper from my stash… There was no good “sky” paper in the collection… bummer.
Soo… what is so special about this book then?
This!
Some of the things on the pages are attached with Velcro dots. So they are removable… and you can put them back on the page in another way. Like this…
Not all the flowers are attached with Velcro. So that the page works and looks pretty even without them.
The same thing with the kitchen shelf. One stack of bowls are left on the shelf…
I only made two of the houses removable… it looked so empty with only one house left on the page!
The bits looks like this. They are laminated so they can survive sticky and dirty child fingers. 😀
And they have a small Velcro dot on the back.
… and off course… you can take things from the kitchen shelf and put them on the window page. Some cups and a tea pot looks perfect in a window!
All the pages are laminated and the cover is protected with some plastic too. I made this book for my daughter… but now when it’s done… I really want it for myself! 😀
The Velcro sticks almost too well and you need to be careful when you take away the pieces from the page. But I guess they will be less sticky with time.
Here is the collection in the shop: Honey I’m Home – WRMK
That’s it from me for this month! See you soon!
XOXO
