Hustle and Heart by Amy Tangerine

Hi! Niki here with you today with some layouts using the new Amy Tangerine collection: Hustle and Heart. When I opened the box containing this collection, I was like ‘whoa this is bright!’ I like bright and colourful layouts but this was off the scale! I have loved working with it and the bright palette and created some fab layouts.

For my first layout I wanted to use that heart sheet but I was worried it was too bright for a background sheet, so to make it work I cut a large heart shape from the middle of it and backed that with white card. I raised the edges on foam pads so it had an aperture effect. I then stitched around the heart with my sewing machine and black thread and then created my layout within the heart aperture.

For my second layout, I also wanted to use another brightly coloured paper for my background. I cut the title from each of the stripes and backed with white card. This phrase features on one of the cut apart sheets in this collection which was also on coloured stripes so I have re-created that on a large scale. I added machine stitching detail and created some clusters.

For my third layout I wanted to create a stack of suitcases to document this funny photo of my little ones all ready to set off on holiday. I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store and cut each case in different papers. I added hand stitching around each and raised them up on foam pads.

This layout started with the giant title (cut file from the Silhouette Design Store) and I backed it with a whole sheet of that lovely wavy paper as this reminded me of the water. I then added lots of colour with the embellishments.

And finally, this layout is one I’ve already shared elsewhere but as it’s made with the same collection I thought I would include it here too. I used the leftover plane paper to create a background for a picture of me and my girl on the plane to our recent holiday. I stitched and she coloured, so we were the Crafty Girls on Tour 🙂  I’ve used loads of embellishments on this layout and also some machine stitching detail too.
