In love with Hello Love!

Well hello Magpies! Welcome to March and lets bring on the spring eh! I am back again using the Hello Love collection from Crate Paper and unfortunately, most of the collection is sold out now and Sarah & Lianne tried to order more, but there wasn’t any to be had. There’s a few pieces left and I can’t recommend this collection enough, it’s so pretty and definitely not all about Valentines Day! Since I’ve been in New Zealand since the end of December, I ordered products to do my blog posts with before I left the UK so I’m sorry I’m using stash that’s out of stock, we’re usually more on-to-it here at Hey Little Magpie but it’s my fault for going off to the other side of the world for months at a time! (It’s been awesome though, the summer has been great here in Auckland and I’m loving it!).
My first LO is a super simple one, a very easy LO for anyone to scraplift. All I did was take a photo (5×3.5″ printed with a white border), cut a piece of patterned paper the same size and put them on, side by side. My title is using the awesome Dear Lizzy Cork Thickers and the ‘dream’ word is from an older Amy Tangerine line but check out these new Thickers from her Better Together line, they’re a new must have! I’ve embellished using some little chevron arrows from the Amy Tangerine Thickers sheet and some of the epoxy Thickers from the Hello Love range as well. I kept this one very simple because I was teaching a friend to scrap while I was doing it (Hey Claudes!) and I wanted to show her how you don’t need to fill up the whole page to make an effective LO.

Next up I tried and tried to use some heavily patterned paper from Hello Love, the B Side of the Blush Paper, but I failed and covered most of it up with black cardstock lol! But I loved the effect of creating an exciting border using the patterned paper and then I was happy design wise cause I still have some blank space for the eye to rest. Most of what I have used on this one is out of stock unfortunately, you can get doilies here though. I layered up a couple of doilies, then layered up a load of the papers from the Hello Love 6×6 paper pad, the title came from the Epoxy Thickers pack and then I used some of the other bits and bobs from the Ephemera pack and then used one of the uber cute Gold Resin Hearts which everyone seems to love!

I love this last LO, it’s another simple one with lots of white space, I can’t help myself! I actually created this LO 8.5×11″ on the white background but then I had it laying on top of a piece of black cardstock on my table and I thought wow, that looks much better! So I stuck it down and added some white faux stitching around the edge. Again, I layered up my photo on lots of the 6×6 papers and dotted around various bits from the Ephemera pack, 12×12″ Chipboard Stickers and the arrows were from the Epoxy Thickers pack. The ‘love’ word I’ve used as my title came from the Epoxy Thickers pack too but the same sticker was on the 6×12″ Sticker sheet too. The gold stickers I also used for the title were from an older Maggie Holmes line, they came in a book of different sized gold Alphabet stickers and I found there were some smaller ones towards the back of the book and used them.

So I’m really sorry that I’ve used out of stock products this month. I didn’t mean to and I know Sarah & Lianne wanted to re-stock the Hello Love collection but it was unavailable so we missed out. I hope you all managed to grab the bits you loved before they sold out and there are still some embellishments left here, those Gold Resin Hearts are well worth the money, and the Layered Tags are beautiful in real life believe me.
