In The Details – A Simple Memory Keeping Spread

Hi there Magpie! It’s Victoria and this week I am getting into the details in my memory keeping planner. Well, it’s not really a planner because I don’t plan in it. I go back at the end of the week and highlight my favourite moments with stickers, journaling and sometimes photos. It’s very simple and quick to put together, and a great way to try out collecting memories before delving into the amazing world of scrapbooking.

Follow Your Heart

Memory keeping doesn’t need to be daunting. There are no hard and fast rules. It is just about documenting the things that happen in a visually appealing way. So that can mean taking lots of photos or using stickers to build the bulk of your spread. All you need to do is add the simple details and the memories of course! I like memory keeping in my Happy Planner because a lot of the work is done for me. Although on this spread I covered up the floral pattern printed on the page! Once again I whipped out the white-out then used these long flower stickers from the Squad Goals sticker value pack to cover up the pre-existing design.

Oh How Lovely

As it was Valentine’s Day last week, I wanted to keep my layout very traditional with pinks, reds and purples. These tiny clear hearts from the Seasonal sticker value pack inspired my colour scheme. They are so cute and dainty! I also splashed in a bit of metallic silver foil as an accent. I like to add at least one metallic to every spread because it catches the light nicely. And there is nothing like some suitably seasonal washi to add another burst of interest. The pretty red XO washi I’ve used is from the Seasonal washi sticker book cause I know you’re dying to know!

Wild At Heart

I love when a spread comes together so cohesively. I have found that focusing on simple details helps to keep a spread looking balanced and cute, without becoming overwhelming. A great way to do this is by putting together sticker clusters. One of my favourite clusters from my layout is the weekend banner I created.

With a large double box sticker from the Seasonal tiny sticker book, these adorable envelopes from the Seasonal sticker value pack and another floral banner from the Squad Goals sticker value pack I created a functional element but also left enough space to write about my weekend. And let’s not forget how far a little bit of lettering can go!

Take Care Of You

So in the spirit of simplicity, that’s all from me this week Magpies! But don’t despair there’s plenty more on my Instagram, @veryimportantplans. Come by to see the filled-in spread and for loads more planning and memory keeping ideas. Until next time! Stay golden Magpies!
