Indigo & Ivy | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies, Giselle here with two new layouts for August using the beautiful Indigo & Ivy collection from Pink Paislee. I’m loving the subtle colours of blue, green and neutral brown with a touch of pink and gold. This is truly a collection for both boy and girl pages!

My first layout uses quite a few of the patterned papers from which I cut lots of hearts. I started the layout by masking the page with a large heart shape which I cut by hand – it didn’t need to be very accurate! Then I sprayed some blue ink onto the background leaving the heart shape white.

I played about with the placement of all the little hearts until I was happy with the arrangement, then I glued them all into place.

I placed the photo within the large heart shape slightly overlapping on the right side. I added two patterned paper pieces behind the photo and added some phrase stickers on the left.

I chose the title from the ephemera pack and trimmed it slightly before adding it below the photo. I supplemented the title by adding a few words using a foam alphabet. Then I added some word stickers and a die cut butterfly around the heart plus some enamel dots.

For my second layout I started by adding a trimmed piece of patterned paper to another sheet from the collection.

I lightly drew a square slightly off centre and applied some white paint using a dry brush to make it look like a sketchy background. When the paint had dried I drew several lines around the square with a fine nib pen overlapping the corners and adding a few extra lines.

I glued the photo into place backed with three patterned papers and a tag. I wrote the journalling on the tag. Then I spent a happy hour or so fussy cutting dark blue flowers to use as a cluster below the photo! I glued them into place with a couple of leaves which I’d also fussy cut, plus the title which was taken from the ephemera pack.

The collection includes some very pretty clear acetate words some of which have a lovely hint of colour. I didn’t want any glue showing through so I added just a teeny dot of Glossy Accents to set it in place.

I added a die cut flower, a gold heart and a phrase sticker to the top left of the photo and some gold enamel squares, from my stash, with some enamel dots around the frame and among the flowers.

I look forward to seeing your creations on our Facebook page, hope you find time to scrap during the summer holidays. Until later this month, happy scrapping everyone!
