Is it any Wonder?

…that this gorgeous range by Crate Paper has been so popular in the store?
Crate Paper Wonder
With it’s bright colours, eye-catching patterns, cute little motifs, and real mix of ephemera the Wonder line by Crate Paper has caught everyone’s imagination.
I’ve been so looking forward to using this collection to create some new card projects as there was just so much loveliness to choose from – I love how suitable it is for all ages, from projects for children to those who are young at heart.
Just a heads up that this collection has been so popular that a few items are out of stock right now, but more is on the way!
My shopping basket included the following items from the collection:

So on with the projects!
All the papers used on these cards are from the 6×6 pad except for one design that I’ll mention later.
The 6×6 pad includes a scaled-down version of the Bright paper, which I thought would be great to cut letters from to create a sentiment for a birthday card:

The font and colours are a great match for the “LOVELY” chipboard elements.
Crate Paper Wonder - Have a Lovely Birthday card - detailI love the contrast against the wood effect background. I also used the other sheet of Bright paper from the 6×6 pad as the main background to the card.
Everything was of course finished off with a little star from the ephemera pack and an enamel dot – something which is a new and very welcome addition to Crate Paper’s range! I have a reeeeal weakness for enamel dots!
Next up we have a new home card:
Crate Paper Wonder - New Home cardAs soon as I saw that scaled down Cheerful paper I knew it would be ideal for this type of card.

The journal and title stickers have some great designs in them.
I really love the inspirational and uplifting words and elements in this line – great for scrapbooking, but some of them also work on cards – or even as wall art:
Crate Paper Wonder - Dream a Little Dream cardThe scripty “dream” is from the journal and title stickers – as are the “A” and “little” that I cut from other stickers, and the little flags in the top corner.
Crate Paper Wonder - Dream a Little Dream card - detailThe die-cut elements in this line are a lovely quality and thickness – I paired up the jar, star, “dream” banner and large pink heart from the die-cut ephemera and finished off the card with more enamel dots and the very handy and effective gold sequins that are mixed in with the enamel dots. Having self-adhesive sequins ready to go is so nice!
This range also has a lot of child-friendly and cute designs mixed in with the bolder colours. I thought the “little one” die cut from the ephemera pack would make for a great baby card:
Crate Paper Wonder - Hello Little One cardI think this might have been my favourite card to make!
I definitely wanted the moon and stars against a night-style background (enter the scaled-down B-side of the Brave paper) and I paired it up with the string of lights (which is a border sticker in the journaling sticker set) shining down from the sky.
Crate Paper Wonder - Hello Little One card - detail The little birds are from the chipboard elements and are sitting on a branch cut from other papers from the 6×6 pad. To make the speech bubble background pop a bit more I added a piece of 3D foam tape just under where the speech bubble appears near the birdies.
And once again I finished off the card with some gold sequins for extra sparkle.
And for slightly older little people, one of the cute elements I wanted to use from the ephemera were the animal “masks”:
Crate Paper Wonder - ephemera masksBut without eyes I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them…
But I had a piece of paper on my desk from the Maggie Holmes Confetti range and well… necessity is the mother of invention – I am not sure Maggie Holmes ever imagined her paper would be used to make eyes, but it was a quick and serendipitous solution! And those masks look so much cuter with eyes in them:
Crate Paper Wonder - ephemera masks with eyesSo Mr Fox was my first choice for a child’s birthday card:
Crate Paper Wonder - Birthday fox cardThe scaled-down Dream paper worked a treat for the background – I love all the colourful and fun elements there, and they don’t overpower the rest of the card.
Crate Paper Wonder - Birthday fox card - detailI popped Mr Fox on one of the tags from the die-cut ephemera pack, added a stamped greeting on one of the Die-Namics Sentiment Strips, and finished it off with another enamel dot from this range.
And finally, I used the bear from the ephemera pack with the Confetti paper that was still out on my desk:
Crate Paper Wonder - Hello cardThe elements in this range go really great with kraft cardstock and card blanks – the HELLO is also from the ephemera pack and I used 3D foam squares to make it really stand out.
Crate Paper Wonder - Hello card - detailSo would you guess that the eyes for Mr Bear were from that same background paper? 😀
Here’s a recap of the items I used:

I’m looking forward to putting all the lovely elements left in my ephemera, stickers and chipboard to good use on some more projects in the not too distant future. I think they’ll also go really well with the papers I still have left over from Crate’s Poolside release. 🙂
Well that’s it from me for this month, and fair warning to you that I will be entering the festive zone come October – so brace yourselves! 😉
Happy crafting!
