Let's be Merry & Bright with Pink Paislee

Hi everyone, not long now till the ‘big day’ so I thought I would get in the Christmas mood and create some layouts using the lovely Pink Paislee Merry and Bright Collection.  This collection is idea, as the tones are slightly muted , but they stick to the traditional theme of red, green and silver.
The Holidays are Coming … Last year me and James waited for quite a while in the cold to get our photograph taken with the Coca Cola truck, so obviously the photo needed to be scrapped.  I added texture paste through a star mask and stamped on the background using white ink, then using Pink Paislee Merry & Bright  6×6 pad I choose 3 sheets of paper and layered them on the background cardstock, followed by laying  the photograph with two other 6×6 papers from the pad.

This layout came together really quickly and I finished the page off with some star wood veneer, enamel pearl dots.

I Can Explain … well I have to make sure I’m on the nice list … right … whilst out shopping last year I came across this Santa’s phone box at a shopping centre, and the opportunity was too good to miss to have my photograph taken in it.

Another layout that came together quickly.  I love thisPink Paislee Merry & Bright bow paper that I used for the background, and adding two stripes from this paper and this paper, both border punched with different border punches from my stash. Again I chose some paper from the Pink Paislee Merry & Bright 6×6 pad and layered behind my photograph to add some depth to my photograph.

I had this frame on my desk which is from Crate Paper – Notes & Things and has it was a neutral  colour I decided to add it and add a banner from the Pink Paislee – Merry & Bright ephemera  pack over the printed words.  I love these American Craft Thickers which added a clean feel to the page.  To finish the page I added a few strips from the Pink Paislee – Merry & Bright – foil word strips, and some of the accents from the Pink Paislee Cardstock Accent Sheet .

For my final layout  – My Advent Box – I wanted to document my Christmas box that my friend Julie gave to me last year, I was told not to open it until the 1st December, and when I did it had 24 small packets inside, one to open each day, after opening each present I took a photo and I then needed to figure out how to add all 24 photos to one layout, and I came up with the idea for a mini book.  So using some cardstock I made a ‘matchbox’ style minibook that I added to my layout.

I keep the photo on the outside of the minibook  as 6×4 and adhered to the left size of the folder, and to keep it closed I added a magnetic strip behind the photograph.

I wanted the mini book to stay relatively flat to the page, so I staggered the background cardstock, and using a piece of cardstock has the hinge I was able to assembly my minibook.

View of the staggered pages, each page was measured 0.5 cm bigger than the previous one.  I ended up with 7 pages with the top one measuring approximately 11cm and the last page measuring approximately 14cm the same size as the base of the folder.

So that I didn’t have 24 4×4 photographs I added 4 photographs to each page and printed them as  4×4.

On the back of each photo mount I added a piece of patterned paper from the 6×6 pad and some elements from the ephemera pack and the Merry & Bright  cardstock sticker sheets

Thats all from me for this month, I loved working with this collection and I know you will as well.
I hope all you days leading  upto Christmas will be Merry & Bright just like this collection.
