Maggie Holmes Willow Lane for Crate Paper.
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x
This month I was eagerly awaiting this range arriving in the shop. I’d had my eye on Maggie Holmes – Willow Lane since Crate Paper started sharing their sneaks. It has a fun feel with birds, butterflies, flowers & cute animals…whats not to love.
Happiness looks a lot like … you my darling.
I’d had ideas for this piece of paper before I even got my hands on it! I wasn’t keen if I’m honest how the letters were cut off at the bottom, so I solved this by placing my photos along the bottom so you could still read the words above. Ive managed to squeeze three 4×3 photos into this page without it feeling too cluttered.
I added Willow Lane papers from the 6×8 paper pad under my photos in a variety of colours.
Then I used a selection of the Willow Lane chipboard shapes, stickers, fussy cut birds, accent thickers and puffy stickers to embellish with before adding a little journalling to a handmade tag.
For my other page this moth I was inspired by one of the chipboard shapes to try paper piecing.
Funny Bunny.
With the SnapChat craze still going strong I thought that making a bunny similar to the Willow Lane bunny would be a fun and new thing for me to try. I drew a quick sketch of how I wanted it to look & hand cut it from white cardstock.
I used papers from the Willow Lane 6×8 pad to fill the ears & make her frock. Which I further embellished with hand stitching, mini buttons and doily collars. All the features were hand sewn too.
I cut flowers from the Willow Lane 12×12 Sentiment paper and added them on foam pads around my 2 photos. I finished the page off with a border hand cut from the Willow Lane 12×12 Together paper attached with foam plus puffy sticker stars and a machine cut title.
We would love to see what you create with this lovely range over on our Facebook group.
Till next time x
