With only one month to go until the big day, are you feeling magic and sparkly yet?
I’ve been getting in the festive spirit early this year – it seems we all look forward to seeing the high street names compete for the best TV advert, and I must admit that my layouts this month have been based around the M&S strapline ‘Magic and Sparkle’.
Gold is very much the en-vogue colour in the world of scrapbooking, but magic and sparkle doesn’t have to be limited to only gold. The embossing pastes by Wendy Vecchi come in a stunning array of metallics, including gold and silver and provide a brilliant base for all your Christmas layouts and projects…
#12dogs is the title of my first layout this month and documents the Christmas social media campaign that I’ve organised at work – every day from 1st to 12th December a pooch, dressed in character will be giving away gifts. As well as my faithful gelatos, I used ephemera, stickers and brads from the American Crafts Be Merry and Simple Stories DIY Christmas to document what I hope will be very successful indeed – after all everyone loves cats and dogs. Seeing little Hettie in her Santa Baby outfit, posing on the loo seat makes me chuckle!
Mmmm… just look at these glittery thickers!
Cute tags… why not have yourself a merry little Christmas and treat yourself?
So if red magic and sparkle isn’t your cup of tea, does silver float your boat?
Sprinkled with love uses the gorgeous embossing paste as a base and then combines elements from the Crate Open Book collection including the pink ombre wood planking as the base for the layout along with tiny text phrases from Studio Calico.
I just love the silvery texture this embossing paste gives…
Not feeling the love for red or silver?
Can’t go wrong with a bit of gold…
Open Book from Crate has to be my possible all time favourite collection of theirs…
You can never have too many doilies!
Any if you weren’t sold on the ephemera, hows about the cutest squirrel to tempt you!
So whatever colours you choose this magical Christmas, make sure that they sparkle.
