Magnolia Jane stamping

Hi there, Sheena here again x
I don’t know about you but I really like buying stamps but don’t often use them! I’m trying really hard to break this “collecting” habit but when I saw the stamps in Heidi Swapp’s Magnolia Jane collection and how reasonably priced they were, I just had to have them.
So for my pages this month I’ve challenged myself to actually open the stamp packaging & use them.
You are Beautiful.

One of my concerns when it comes to stamping is messing up a layout. So for this page I started with a sheet of smooth cardstock so if I made a mistake I was only wasting one sheet. I stamped some of the word stamps over half the cardstock in shades of grey and black using permanent  ink. In between I added stamped flowers overlapping the card edge.
I added watercolour paint to the flowers & tilted the card to allow it to run down. I’d advise doing one flower at a time to stop it getting too messy but it does take time.

I clustered a few acrylic shapes around the photo to finish off the page.

Bliss.

For my second page I got a like braver & decided to stamp onto the vellum sheet in the Magnolia Jane range. At first glance it’s easy to miss but thats ok as I was after a subtle effect. On closer inspection you can see that I randomly stamped flowers again in permanent ink before trimming vellum strip & adding to the layers on the left of my page.

To continue the gold I used a Heidi Swapp gold acrylic word & a HLM flair but they are really difficult to get a good photo of.

Happy.

For my last page I decided it was time to be brave & actually stamp on the patterned paper!! I took the Magnolia Jane arrow stamp a mix of pink & neutral inks & stamped random arrows all over my background paper. I trimmed my background paper to 9×12 then trimmed my arrow paper smaller to show a border on each sides & added a gold strip of vellum peaking out.

To compliment the arrows I used strips of paper, distressed the edges & machine sewed them overlapping into a heart shape to mount my photo on. Then sewed an Heidi Swapp gold acrylic word down as my title at the top.

I’d love to see what you create with these stamps & please add your layouts to out Facebook Inspiration thread.
Till next time x
