Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 2 layouts I’ve made using the Jane Davenport mixed media collection mixed in with Vicki Boutin Designer sticker book. As you probably already know I love a bit of mixed media & have tried these products before but wanted to have a go a layout using other products in the collection.
My first layout ‘beautiful’ uses that fantastic image of a girls head which was fussy cut out of the Jane Davenport paper pad. I first watercoloured the background paper using the Brights watercolour palette with pinks & reds & some splashes of black. I then added that fab watercoloured heart, which is fussy cut out of the napkin collage paper & added it to the page with gel medium. I then added some vellum circles out of the confettissue pack & added word stamping & hand drawn circles all over the watercoloured part using a black pen & the paint over pens. My photo sits on a mat of papers from the 8×9.5 paper pad & I’ve nestled it under the large girls head. A strip of paper grounds the photo & I love the quirky washi tape of all the girls in line. I distressed the 2 edges of my base paper & added it to a background paper from my stash with some turquoise corrugated card & fussy cut scallops to the edges, stitching & gold mist finish it off. The title ‘beautiful’ & the gold flower & small word stickers are all out of the Vicki Boutin sticker book.
My second page ‘ wilder than the wind’ turned out a bit mad but I love the result of it & it really suits the photos. I started by roughly painting strips of colour, pink, blue & yellow a few times down the page, with the brights colour palette, in the middle & to that I stencilled, with ink, different sized circles from the palette stencil & washi holder. Over that I added texture paste, through another stencil & finished with word stamping & stamped circles. I then cut out a title of the napkin collage paper & some feathers & colour swatches & added those to the page with mat medium. I die cut some black messy circles & a couple of arrows & added those to the page with the photos on top. Some ripped washi tape, machine stitching & stickers from Vicki Boutin sticker book finish the layout.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my layouts & it inspires you to have a go at some mixed media & enjoy the process & results.
Until next time xoxo
