Mixing up Magnolia Jane

Hello everyone, I hope I find you well this month, and you have managed to get some time to craft over the past month. I have had a fabulous time crafting recently and am enjoying all the inspiration and challenges over on the Facebook group.

This month I have picked a newer collection from the shop to play with, Heidi Swapp’s Magnolia Jane. This collection has lots of soft vintage notes and lovely notes of gold foiling to go with it. She also has released stamps sets to go with this collection, these make a great addition to your crafty stash as can be used on a variety of projects.

I have created 3 pages to share with you this month, I decided to make a feature of the tags that come with this collection. These are great, not only do they contain the fab prints from the collection and gold foiling, but they come with a variety of colours of hole reinforcers, so are great for coordinating with your pages. I took the Secret Garden paper and fussy cut out all the flowers to give me something to build my clusters on.

My first pages, was using Belle paper, which I layers on top a mixture of paint and inks and of course some mists. I used some stencils from my stash, I recommend you check out the new Vicki Boutin collection for some great products for this type of technique. I have a process video for this layout up on my YouTube channel, which will show how I build up these layers.

I used the tags to build up my layers and place my photos on, I took a couple of the Glitter Frames from an older Heidi Swapp to mount my photos in.

I finished up this page using some of the lovely acetate foiled words that are part of this collection.

For my second page I used the Antebellum paper for my background and build up some more inky and mist layers. I again used a tag to build my photo cluster on top of.

I took the Vintage Market paper and using my Silhouette Cameo die cut a number of floral shapes to uses on these pages. As the paper is double sided it means I can use whatever side works for my page. I added inks and mists and Nuvo Drop to help makes these elements pop.

My final page uses Miss Jane as a background with a few off cuts from the other pages I made. I again used two tags to build my clusters on top.

I used lots of the floral fussy cut pieces on this page as well as a variety of stamping and stencil pieces to layer my photo on. I again used one of the Heidi Swapp Glitter Frames.

I have really enjoyed using this collection and the tones that are in it, and it really has inspired me to play more in with creating my backgrounds, and to fussy cut papers to make my own embellishments.

I hope you can get some inspiration from my pages this month and enjoy playing with your stash.

Happy Scrapping
