Sunny Days

In the absence of a British summer , I felt the need to inject some sunshine into my pages . So what better choice than the Sunny Days collection from Elle’s Studio. If we can’t have the real thing then let’s make our pages shine instead !
Having said that I chose this photo for my first layout because of the absence of sunshine ! We’d gone to the beach in search of the sun but it was a pretty overcast day. No problem, just add some vibrant yellow and orange and we can pretend instead !

The background is splattered with a combination of paint powders and a variety of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Spritz sprays. There’s a perfect mini set of yellow hues called Creamsicle which is guaranteed to brighten up any layout.

In between these sunshine bursts , I’ve stamped some simple phrases using Elle’s Studio – The Story Of Clear Stamp Set using black ink for some and white embossing powder in white for others , outlined with an American Crafts Precision pen in black.  This is such a versatile stamp set and one I know I’ll be returning to again and again. Have a look too at the Jillibeans Soup Printed Wood Wordfetti –  there are 100 words to choose from – very good value .  The Soak up the Sun patterned paper provided lots of sunny phrases to cut into strips and the Bits & Pieces Die Cuts pack provided plenty of elements and phrases to layer up. A sprinkling of sequins brings a bit of a shine to the final look.

I loved this bold striped paper from the collection called Adventures . It seemed a shame to hack into it so I kept it intact and just cut the title into into, backed with gold glitter card stock.

In keeping with the simple graphic style I simply added a few of the puffy stickers from the Sunny Days collection  – plenty to choose from and by the time I’d finished all 3 layouts , I’d used the whole pack – love it when that happens !

There’s also a great die cuts pack in the Sunny Days collection – perfect for creating clusters.

Last up , I dug deep into my old collection of photos ( pre digital – showing my age ) . I knew I had the perfect picture to use those sweet little ice lolly puffy stickers. Eventually I found it and it just fits the bill perfectly.

Youngest son used to call those rainbow ices ‘dripping down lollys’  ( love the way children just say what they see ! ) so I splattered a few more of the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Spritz colours beneath that phrase as if it was dripping down too !
