Oh Happy Life…by Amy Tangerine
Hey Magpies, Niki here with the latest Amy Tangerine collection, Oh Happy Life. I have to admit that at first glance this wasn’t my favourite collection but it grew on me and I’ve managed to create 9 layouts with it lol!!
I had a few of the 12×12 papers, the 12×12 die cut, the 6×6 paper pad, the white Thickers and the puffy stickers. This is very unlike me – somehow I overlooked the ephemera pack, the narrow washi tapes (what was I thinking?!), the accent and phrase stickers, the Multicoloured Thickers, the rubber shapes and the sticker book! I must have had a complete blonde moment when ordering (I can say that as I am naturally blonde lol) as usually I would have ordered all of those things! So when it came to embellishing I was a little limited so I used a lot of Freckled Fawn embellishments instead – I have just a few of those in my stash 🙂
For my first layout Here & Now, I used a very busy Oh Happy Life paper as my background. It was hard to make it work at first as the paper was so busy so I added a layer of white paint and that gave me the perfect separation between my photo and the busy background. The Thickers are from Paige Evans Fancy Free collection that I had leftover.
For my second layout I used a cut file (Just Nick) to cut a large tile from the fabulous hexagon patterned paper. I added strips from the 6×6 paper pad around the edge and some machine stitching.
For this layout ‘Beautiful’ I cut out all the flowers on one of the 12×12 sheets and layered them all back together on a white background.
For Wild About You I used a cut file (Just Nick) and raised it up onto a Oh Happy Life 12×12 sheet. I added some gold spritz to the background before adding the cut file, which I filled a few of the holes with patterns from the 6×6 paper pad.
For Weekend Adventure I used another cut file (also Just Nick) and filled all the holes with 6×6 papers. I love how this layout turned out, the background looks so fab in real life.
For ‘Fantastic’ I used the white die cut cardstock from Oh Happy Life. It’s such an intricate die cut and I layered it on top of white card and coloured parts of it in with watercolours, giving a really soft effect. The word Fantastic is from the white Thickers but I painted it with a Heidi Swapp ColourShine mist and a paintbrish and it took the colour brilliantly!
I was going to stop there but then this idea popped into my head overnight and then I couldn’t stop again! These are all little folded squares of the 6×6 papers and some of them have something hidden inside – so fun!
I loved this gorgeous cloud paper so I cut out the middle section and covered it with white card. From the cut out bit I fussy cut out some clouds and used them to embellish the white part. I also managed to fit in that large owl lol
and finally I had this brightly coloured word sheet left over which again I struggled to use as a background as it was so busy but I covered part of it with white card and it was then really easy to use.
So this collection has fast turned into one of my favourites! I love al the layouts I have made with it and I really enjoyed using it.
Happy scrapping xx
