Hey Little Magpie Blog

It’s All about ME-ology

Hi everyone, Its Nancy here and I am very excited to be here for my first post as a member of the Creative Team and to share some of my projects with you.

To follow on from that excitement, I was very excited to see that the new ME-Ology line from Fancy Pants was in the store.  Anyone who know of my scrapbooking pages, I love to scrapbook about my life, and of course the odd “Selfie” thrown in for good measure.  I am a unmarried, childless scrapbooker, but that does not mean I have nothing to scrapbook, and when I saw this line I knew it was for me.

I am have my own YouTube channel and have posted a detailed look at the products I received from the store  HERE.  You will also see I have numerous videos on their, and you will get a glimps of my love of wigs. Check out the recent tag video I created to find out a bit more about my scrapbooking history.

The Brag Cards are all exceptionally divine, and I loved using them as part of my title on my first LO.  I used the ephemera pack to build the layers of my clustering and also use the sheet of 12×12 paper, I got from the collection, to fussy cut out some of the cameras.  The exclusive flair available in the shop matched this collection brilliantly.

You will find a Process Video of this LO over on my Youtube channel, please follow this Link.  I will be posting Process Videos for all the other LO’s that I share here on my channel this week.

My second LO I want to share with you is mixing the FancyPants collection with the Basic Grey Highline collection.  I used my normal method of over stamping in the background, I love to make it look busy.  One of my favourite tools is the American Crafts Brayers, I use them on nearly every LO that I create.

You will see I have also added some of the Simple Stories Type Set Stickers, I love how the bright colours work with so many collection out their right now.I also have clustered the divine wood veneer sequins too.

My last two LO’s definitely embrace mist, I use it on so many of my project, is not always such a focal point as these two.

I loved this brag card from the pack and I knew I had to use it on a page about me and my boyfriend.  I adore that frame too.  I coloured the amazingly divine Chic Tag Wood Veneer Sequins using my inks, and they just add that finishing touch

This finial LO was defiantly an experimental piece, I like many I am sure, have a stash of unloved papers, but ones that are too nice to get rid of.  I decided I wanted mix the Fancy Pants paper with an older bit from my stash.

I am very happy with the results. The effect with the ink was done using a drinking straw and I love how it came out. I also used some photos printed from the photo-booth app on my phone, I love the black and white against the bright colours of the papers and inks.

I hope you enjoyed looking at what I created using this collection, it is so fun and vibrant. I go in to more detail in my Process Videos do please come over and check them out, remember Hey Little Magpie have also set up their own YouTube channel.  I hope I have inspired you to also get yourself on your scrapbook LO’s and be present in your albums.

See you next month
