Pinkfresh Studio – Just a Little Lovely

Hi Magpies, I hope you are all having a lovely summer and making lots of memories for your scrapbooks. Today, I have three layouts for you using a new collection from Pinkfresh Studio called Just a Little Lovely. It is a beautiful collection with lots of soft watercolours and florals. I chose Just a Little Lovely as I loved the designs of the papers and embellishments. However, it is quite a different collection for me. It definitely got me thinking and I found I needed to adapt my style to use it.

Enjoy Summer

I am loving all the rainbow papers that are being included in collections at the moment. So, I just had to use the Chitchat Paper for my first layout. I loved the banners, and wanted to keep them intact, so I chose to use it as my background paper.

I started by choosing a 6×4 photo and matting it onto black card. Positioning it towards the left of the page, so that I could add my title and journaling to the right.

As there is quite a lot going on on the background already, I didn’t want to add to much. So, I chose The Details stamp set from Elle’s Studio to add most of my embellishment. I worked out which stamps I wanted to use and roughly where I wanted to position them on the page. Selecting three areas to form a visual triangle around the photo. I then stamped them in the correct colour to match the banners, so that the rainbow followed across the page.

I added my journaling to the who, what, where stamp and laid out everything on the page. Before attaching my embellishments to the page, I decided to add some more ink to the white spaces. Using a stencil to add ink splatters. Selecting colours to match the banners at the top of the page. I used a Puffy Phrase Sticker and some Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers for my title. Placing them underneath the journaling, to the right of the photo.

I finished off the page by stamping some phrases from the same stamp set in black ink. Finally, adding some enamel dots and puffy hearts.

All About Me

Back in May I asked on the Inspiration and Chat Facebook group for ideas of what to include in an All About Me album. My next layout today, is the opening page of that traveler’s notebook.

For this layout I used just one sheet of paper. I loved the detail down the side of the Hope Paper and thought as it had the grid print it would be ideal to cut down to a smaller size. I cut the paper to approximately 8.25 x 8.5”, to fit my notebook. Then cut it in half to give me the two separate pages.

The B side of this paper is also beautiful, so I used part of the left over piece on the right hand page to give me a base for my photo.

I chose to use a 3×4” photo, which I matted onto black card. Then fussy cut out the flowers and leaves from the remaining part of the paper. Layering them underneath my photo on the right hand page. Choosing to position my photo so that it overlapped the large strip of paper.

As the left hand page had the beautiful print, I felt it didn’t need anything else. Therefore, I just added my title using a mix of the Puffy Alphabet Stickers and the Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers and called that side done.

I added an area of embellishment in the top right of the right hand page. Cutting two banners from the paper scraps. I added the year using some little tile stickers. Along with a phrase sticker from the Cardstock Phrase Stickers, a puffy heart and a fussy cut leaf.

I finished off the page by adding some more phrase stickers to the top and bottom of the photo, with a puffy heart and a wood veneer asterisk. I decided as this is the opening page of my album, that it did not require any journaling.

Happy Days

For my third layout, I selected the B side of the Hope Paper to be my background. Placing the floral border at the top and building my page up underneath. I selected a 6×4” photo and worked out where I wanted to position it on the page. Then added some pink Distress Ink to the paper, through a stencil, so that it would be visible on either side of the photo.

The packaging for the embellishments in this collection includes a basic grid print. So I actually used a piece of the packaging to mat my photo on, rather than a plain piece of white cardstock. I positioned my photo in the bottom right of the page and then started to build up my embellishment around the photo.

I chose to place the main area of embellishment at the bottom left of the photo, along with my title. Then a secondary cluster at the top right.  I started by building up the clusters with pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera Pack, along with a few labels from my stash. I included a number of flowers, which I had fussy cut from the B side of the One Fine Day Paper. Finishing off the embellishment with some of the Puffy Stickers, along with some enamel dots and puffy hearts.

To finish this page, I added my title using one of the Puffy Phrase Stickers and the Puffy Alphabet Stickers. As well as my printed journaling strips.

That’s all I have for you today, thank you for joining me. I hope you have enjoyed seeing this beautiful collection. I’ve definitely enjoyed working with it. The papers are beautiful and I found all the puffy stickers really easy to work with. I have found this collection has taken me outside my comfort zone, allowing me to create some layouts that differ from my normal style. You can find Just a Little Lovely by Pinkfresh Studio in the shop here.

I will be back again later in the month, with more layouts using this collection.

So until then, Happy Scrapping!
