Sew easy to stitch.

Hi there it’s Sheena again x
This month I thought I would concentrate on sharing a technique I really enjoy adding to my pages & I’m sure you have guessed from the title what it is…thats right, sewing!  You don’t need to be good at it to add a real effect on your pages but a little patience does come in handy!
For Your Eyes Only.
A good way to get started sewing on your pages is to use a template & there are 3 in the new Amy Tan range – Stitched. included in the pack is a paper piercer, needle, thread, mat & the templates. I have the alphabet set which are perfect for titles. Following the idea on the packaging I used 2 colours of thread to stitch each letter but I also created an ombre effect to mirror the background paper by using 5 different coloured threads in total. When stitching the letters I would recommend having the template on view as a guide to keep you in the right pierced holes.

The chipboard pieces, rub ons & embellishments are from the Maggie Holmes Open Book range. The chipboard specs go perfectly with this selfie my Daughter took with her new glasses.

Happy Heart.
If you don’t feel ready to stitch a title how about adding just a small amount of sewing like in this page using the Amy Tan Stitched meadow paper and moments paper.

After cutting the polaroid frames out some of the hearts were cut around and then stitched down with a few stitches.

Together.
For my last page I used my sewing machine to stitch and create a subtle textured background. This was created by misting leaf shapes using Heidi Swapp color shine and then sewing veins on them. The Gold color shine has to be one of my most favourite products ever. Most of the products here are from Maggie Holmes Open Book range including the chipboard shapes, news print vellum, glitter ribbon bows and die cut vellum shapes all layered up.

I also used the decorative clips and Floral ephemera from the same range.

I hope these pages inspire you to stitch a little onto a page real soon.
See you next time x
