Shimelle – Sparkle City

Hi Magpies, Happy International Scrapbooking Day, I hope you are enjoying the challenges the team have put up so far and looking forward to whats to come for the rest of the team over this weekend.

I’m here today with my 1st blogpost for this month using Shimelle –  Sparkle City collection, well I never knew I like purple as a colour, but I must say I don’t just like it, I love it, I even got to use my purple Distress Ink for the first time.

I’m still trying to complete my 2018 Disney album before our next adventure in the Summer, so again I’ve got a Disney layout to share.

In the Driving Seat …

I distressed the cardstock with Oxide Ink – Dusty Concord using the packaging technique.

I choose two photographs, of James being in the driving seat of one of the rides, and as the car was purple it was ideal to use with this collection.

For the photo matt I cut Shimelle –  Sparkle City – It’s Wonderful paper and Shimelle – Sparkle City – Life is Sweet paper both at 8” x 5” and  Shimelle – Sparkle City – Postcards Home paper ,  approximately 7”x 4” and slightly distressed all the edges.

I added 3d foam behind the photographs, and slightly offset the patterned papers behind before adding them over the top of the distressed ink background.

I finished the layout with Shimelle – Sparkle City – die cuts and word labels from Shimelle – Sparkle City – Sticker * Washi Book Folder.

I added a tag with one of the phases from Shimelle – Sparkle City – Stamp set as well as one of the Shimelle – Sparkle City – Embossed Puffy Stickers.

For the title I used Shimelle – Sparkle City – Thickers and mini alphabets from the Sticker book Folder.

Girl Squad

I’ve not used my cameo for a while, so decided to dust it off and have a play with a few new cut files that are out there.

I cut the title from white cardstock, and added a block of colour using Shimelle – Sparkle City – Rainy Day paper .

Instead of backing each individual letter, I backed the whole open space, and that added the full letters back into the cut out shape.

To add some more interest and texture, I hand stitched around the outside edges of the cut out word.

For the photo matt, I cut various patterned papers and added underneath my photograph.

I also added another stamped tag, and an embossed puffy stickers.

I also added a Hey Little Magpie Flair badge.

I have loved working with this collection,

Don’t forget to share on our Facebook page how you have used this collection.

Till next time

Happy scrapping
