I signed up for Simple Stories I AM collection this month but found it daunting ( being British ) trying to put together a layout that shouted loud and clear ‘I am Fabulous’ . I shouldn’t have worried though  because the possibilities for this range are endless , the colours are gorgeous as ever , as we’ve come to expect from Simple Stories and the whole range co-ordinates beautifully. You can use these papers for any occasion really.
The co-ordinating embellishments are super value and the  Chipboard Frames pack contains an amazing 24 varieties of size and colour at only £3.99.

I wanted to use as many photos as possible and I managed to squeeze in 7 plus 10 frames by overlaying them. I’m usually a one photo per layout kinda scrapbooker but sometimes you just need to include a lot of photographs to tell the story. In fact on this layout , the photos do the talking – no need for journalling . They are of one of my all time favourite shops called Foxtail Lilly in Oundle, Northants, which sells flowers, stationery, antique and vintage finds – a real treasure trove. The colours of the frames reflect the vibrancy of the colours in the shop.

I only needed a big bold title in the centre ( cut on my Silhouette Cameo using the outline feature ) and a handful of stickers from the Fundamentals Stickers sheet and the Expressions Stickers sheet and the layout was complete. On the latter you get not one , not two , not even three but FOUR alphabet sets plus phrases and elements. It just makes it all so easy !

Time for something a little simpler with this layout – just three frames this time from the I AM Chipboard Frames pack on a white card stock background with a collection of stickers again from the I Am Fundamentals Stickers sheet which echo the colours of the hearts on the large black chipboard frame. The black alpha on the Expression Stickers sheet provided the title. I even managed to squeeze in a sticker saying ” I am Beautiful ” … referring to my kitten of course !

I even managed to complete this  without dropping a black ink pad onto the finished layout – my usual trick !

For my next layout I decided to go with just a couple of main colours although the range includes almost every colour you could every wish for which is such a help when trying to co-ordinate patterned papers with photos. Here I’ve used pink and yellow with splashes of bold black in between . I also used the Simple Basics kit which includes striped and spotted versions of the main colour ways in the collection . These are great for layering and as background papers . There are several beautiful, double-sided, cut apart papers in the collection which again are perfect for layering, cards or Project Life . I’ve used the  3″ x 4″ Elements Gold Foil Accent paper for this layout and I still have several elements left over. Finishing touches courtesy of the Fundamentals Stickers and the Expression Stickers sheets. The flair badge is from Gossamer Blue’s On My Desk collection and I’ve simply wound a length of black twine around it to add interest.
