SimpleVintage Botanicals | Sheena Rowlands

Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x

For my blog posts this month I have chosen to create with Simple Stories Simple Vintage Botanicals. In fact the name of this range suits it perfectly with its soft tones and flower prints.

Truly Beautiful.

.For this page I was inspired by the layered stickers on the 12×12 Vintage Botanicals banner stickers sheet. I chose a couple I wanted to use and added extra machine and hand sewing, ribbons, lace other die cuts, stickers adhering them all together. I made two of the strips up from scratch using patterned paper as my base.

It’s been a while since I’ve used ribbon and lace on a page but this range really lends itself to it.

I added my 2 photos taken at Monets Garden behind a Simple Vintage Botanical frame with foam pads giving it the same treatment of adding to its own layered effect with lots of extras. I even cross stitched through the frame having poked the holes before hand.

Then I adhered them all down to the Scatter Kindness patterned paper.

For my second page I wanted to use more of the Simple Vintage Botanical frames.

Lovely Confetti Fields.

Using the Simple Vintage Botanicals – Love and Sunshine patterned paper as my base I added a torn section from the 6×4 elements paper after removing the confetti 6×4 journalling card. I tore one edge and curled the top edge before machine stitching it down with a curled strip of Hello Happy patterned paper. Under the torn edge I added some gauze that I had coloured using Distress inks.

I layered a small frame over a big frame adding the journalling card underneath which was perfect to go with this photo taken in Confetti fields. I tucked my photo in the small frame then began embellishing the frame with fussy cut flowers and ribbon.

I added my chipboard title with machine sewing to the bottom right with smaller alphas, die cuts and enamel dots to finish off.

I hope these pages provide some inspiration for using this lovely Simple Stories Vintage Botanicals range & please share with us your creations in our Facebook group.

Till next time x
